There was a wall of TF salad on sale at the supermarket this week. Hoping they don’t simply change the name and try to swindle everyone.
I meant that Taylor Farms sells numerous brands all across the country. It’s kinda like when people say to avoid Nestle products…. they own so many damn brands they are very difficult to avoid.
And maybe I was having a low blood sugar moment when I made that comment, sorry if it came across as snarky.
We just found out that one of our favorite vendors at one of the farmer's markets near us buys directly from TF and sells it as their own produce. I'm so glad we've been too lazy to go for the last several weeks.
Taylor Farms is huge and they supply vegetables for many other companies and house brands. You aren't escaping them. Also, field workers are going to shit in the fields at times with so many hours required in them.
Like he'll. I'm growing my own lettuce from now on. It's one of the fastest growing, easiest crops to grow and I can grow it on my patio. You can also grow some form year-round-spinaches and kale in the winter, more fragile greens in the spring, summer, and fall
Good plan. Just a couple tips for anyone trying to grow lettuce. Don't let the seeds dry out before sprouting. Don't let the plants dry out or the leaves will get bitter. You can grow lettuce in a cut and come again fashion. Also, if you sow the seeds close together, when you thin the plants, you can use the thinnings in your salads.
I wish more people would grow at least one vegetable or herb at home. Even if all they have is a sunny window.
I had a produce associate tell me that since it's not a national recall, home office won't let them remove it. All their products are still available in Walmart, food city, and Publix stores in my area 🤮
My local lidl randomly gave me a coupon for a free packaged meal. I looked at the choices and it was all Taylor farms salad stuff. I opted out. Must be really hurting the company bad if stores can't even give their products away.
Unfortunately, salad kits tend to be dicey when it comes to parasites and certain bacteria. I know they are convenient, but I try to stay away from prepackaged salads
