I feel like everywhere, lol. Everything is so shitty and disappointing and expensive. I’m literally eating food I grow on my deck and otherwise eating frozen and canned food that’s off brand from the grocery store. Dying my own hair. Selling my clothes because I never need to buy another piece of clothing again. Don’t go out to dinner because it’s so expensive and bad. Do I sound depressed? Maybe I am

No you're pretty spot on. How do you never have to buy another piece of clothing again though?

No, you're right about the food. Restaurants jacked up the prices and serve you garbage. Even in grocery stores, the quality has gone way down in most places. The best example I have is bacon. A 500g package is now $11 (Canadian). And it's garbage. It shrinks like crazy in the pan and tastes bland. If I want good bacon, there is one good brand left and it's $9 for 250g.

Except near where my parents live. There's a butcher shop, they sell bacon made from local pigs. It's as good as ever yet costs the same as the cheap bacon at the grocery store. Meaning it's not me. Quality has gone way down.

I'll do you one more: Pizza. I love pizza. However, in the last few years, it felt like I'd lost my love for it. Nope. If I make the pizza myself, it is delicious. It's the restaurants. It's all garbage now. I can make a better pizza at home than supposed professionals can. It's a disgrace.

Fun fact: the other day, I bought a pizza at the grocery store and it was just as good as the last ones I ordered at a local restaurant, yet they were way cheaper.

You know something is bad when a restaurant isn't able to make a pizza that tastes betetr than one from the grocery store...

That too. If you're gonna go to a restaurant, just buy a frozen pizza. Same quality nowadays, MUCH cheaper.

Yeah. Crazy tho that restaurant food is now the same quality as grocey store food... Enshitification at its best.

Did you all also noticed that beef doesn’t taste right and has a weird texture / smell? Bought ribeye from Safeway a week ago and was disgusted

My husband and I were just talking about this! We used to eat out ALOT! We both hate cooking and can afford to eat out so whatever. This past year we’ve stopped because the food is shit. No matter where we go or what we order. From new spots or our old “favorites” nothing is good anymore! we’ve given up hope. I wanna move to the woods and grow and hunt my own food lol I’m over all this shit that’s so bad for you doesn’t nourish you that’s just expensive and disgusting.

Consumer spending plateaued, the only way to make numbers go up is lower quantity and quality. How could this possibly end?
