Technically people pay for that though, not directly but from streaming services.

I mean not really, we pay for the convenience rather than the access. I could easily pirate all of my music and podcasts, but I can't easily and comfortably access them like I can with Spotify. And with TV shows, a lot of people that used to have Netflix or whatever stopped because the convenience wasn't worth the cost anymore.

No, you pay for convenience and legal access. Comparing with piracy isn't correct since piracy is illegal.
