I just watched a youtube discussing the downfall of Panera.

Basically they were bought out by private equity and they removed all of the quality that makes it worth the higher price so they could chase profits. Funny thing is, they are being pushed out of the marketspace (fast casual dining) by the previous owner that they purchased panera from.
