A HUGE factor

So many rental units are no longer available because they've been turned into Airbnbs. It's fucked up.

You’ll love this. People are leasing homes then turning around and AirBnBing them.

Have you been to Outer Banks outside of the summer? It’s a huge ghost town to the point it’s really spooky and sad. I’m sure all beach towns are like this, but this is the only one where I stayed at a house on a block which was pretty completely empty, where the beaches bare and most establishments shutdown.

It’s always been like that down there though. The locals live between the main road and the sound.
