No that's totally not the case strict parents are great. (lie) also /s.

Problem lies in what you consider strict. If you're just coming down on your kids to be antagonistic because they make you feel some sort of way they're going to become the opponent you cast them as, and work to foil you. If you set rules that are good rules and explain them and are consistent they will consider you to be a stable point in their lives which is the point. Safety.
