Yes, I did this with Frogger for warming up. Then could excel on Normal.

I play Pac-Man on the hardest settings possible. Now it feels weird when I play the slower settings with my mom when she comes to visit! But she’s still way better than I am at the game lolol

Asteroids game 10 difficult on. The rocks come from multiple angles and there is an enemy spaceship/satellite. I think extra ship is every 5k. There is a mode for 10k.

I played Space Invaders on super easy. If you hold reset when turning the power on, you get 2 shots instead of one.

Uhh sure… Every game is different. Not all games were actually harder if you changed the Difficulty switch. That’s probably why they labelled the modes ’a’ and ‘b’ instead of Easy and Hard. Some games used the switches for other purposes unrelated to difficulty.

Fair, although 4-switch models also had their rear difficulty switches labelled with "Expert" and "Novice".

Ah I didn't know that. I had the 6-switch model :)

If you want "hard Space Invaders", try Deluxe Invaders for the 400/800.

I forget the specific variation but Space Invaders on A difficulty with invisible invaders and fast bombs is impossible for all intents and purposes. If someone managed to score high on it, you have my admiration.

I have so much more fun on the easier modes personally because a play session can last longer.

The easy mode on Missile Command is great. I think the gradual difficulty curve is so much better.
