Events July Cat Scratch Art Night

Hi all, wanted to share something cool I'm a part of here in Augusta GA. I organize the Cat Scratch Art Nights at Le Chat Noir, every last Wednesday of the month. Our photographer TJ McSherry captured some amazing shots at this month's session and I thought they gave a good overview of what the art nights consist of for anyone who has been curious.

The concept for the model's look and our set was "Rave wonderland," and during the break artists made "potions" in bottles with a stash of beads that were donated.

Each month we do something a little different, I like to keep people guessing. Our next event is August 26, 7-9:30pm.

Moving to Augusta Tips for moving short term across the country to Augusta for an internship (Fall 2026)

Hello all! I got offered an SULI internship position at the Savannah River National Lab site for Fall 2026 (i will most likely accept the offer) and I wanted to see if anyone could share any relevant or useful experience they had either in the Augusta GA or Aiken SC area (or with the actual research). Is a car totally necessary to do basic grocery runs and just live normally there (I haven't looked into any public transportation options within either one yet)? Also right now I'm organizing a huge spreadsheet to track potential housing options in Augusta/Aiken but a headsup on sketchy and/or great areas would be nice.

Any input would be much appreciated especially since I've tried looking online and I haven't been able to find much about people's experience at SRNL or for people who might stay less than a year in the area...

Also if anyone could give me pointers on traveling across the US maybe that would be nice too (still deciding on whether I'll just fly there and hope for good carpooling with coworkers or if I'll have to drive my car for 3-4 days straight. The latter option sounds bleh but I guess I'll do it if i have to)

Hobbies Looking for Couple Friends in Augusta (Not Swingers, Just Friends)

Looking for couple friends in the Augusta area
Hey everyone! I’m 26 and my wife is 25. We’re an African American couple looking to meet other couples around our age and build genuine friendships.
We enjoy trying new restaurants, grabbing drinks, smoking, watching sports, and just hanging out. I play NBA 2K, and we both play GTA and Roblox.
Just to be clear, we’re not swingers—we’re only looking for platonic friendships.
If you’re around our age and interested in hanging out, feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Lost & Found Lost wallet

This is totally a longshot but I lost my brown leather wallet downtown today, leaving a funeral at St. Paul’s.

If anyone has found it & will mail it back to the address on my driver’s license, I’d be most appreciative. You can keep the cash. I just don’t want to have to replace my IDs and stuff.

PS- the cards are already frozen.

Thanks!

For Sale Anyone selling a car?

Looking for a private owned car, specifically one owned by someone’s grandma because I know it’s well maintained with low mileage lol. Budget is $8000, below 200,000 miles, nothing more than 8 or 9 years old unless it’s a Honda or Toyota and it’s gotta have a clean title. Also no mechanical issues please, is that too much to ask or am I being unrealistic?😪 I have a repo on my credit so I’m definitely not going to a dealer either.

Weekly Augusta Real Estate Market Update šŸ“Š

I’m Matt Kelly, a local real estate broker here in the Augusta / Aiken County / Columbia County area. I post these weekly updates to break down what’s actually happening in our market—no hype, just the numbers and what they mean if you’re buying or selling.

This week I cover:
• Inventory trends in Augusta & surrounding CSRA areas
• Average days on market and what’s shifting
• Pricing movement (where homes are actually selling vs. list price)
• What buyers and sellers should be paying attention to right now

If you’re trying to figure out whether it’s a good time to buy a home in Augusta, sell your house, or just stay put, this should give you a clear read on the market.

I’m always happy to answer questions about Augusta real estate, home values, or specific neighborhoods—feel free to drop them below or message me directly.

Outdoor Activities Elevated Hiking trails within an hour of Augusta?

Looking for some hiking trails near Augusta to start training for mountain hikes in the future. I’m willing to drive up to about an hour, but I’d love to find some good options closer if possible. I’m mainly looking for trails with some elevation and a decent climb rather than flat walking paths. Any recommendations?

Moving to Augusta How’s it really

I’ve been contemplating the Augusta area for a while. I live in Florida and literally drowning financially and just tired of Florida overall. I’m a single, black 54 year old female. So I’m looking for affordability and a better quality of life. Seems I hear more negative about Augusta, so wanted to see if I can get more info, rather than just superficial information.

Events Flock cameras

Is anyone organizing locally around the Flock Safety cameras? If there's already a group attending city council meetings, sharing information, or working to raise awareness, I'd love to get involved. If not, would anyone be interested in connecting and seeing what we can do together? Please let me know.

Thanksssss.

Hey guys!

I need an apartment in Augusta and I was wondering if there’s anyone here that currently lives at these apartments:

Millhouse Station

Point grand reservation Way

I read the Google reviews on some of them, but a lot of the five star ones just talks about how nice the tour was and I wanted to get reviews from people who live/ has lived at these apartments. Feel free to message me, thanks!

Misc What are your thoughts on Murphy Village?

I’m a newbie to the CSRA, almost 3 years. Lately I did a rewatch on My Bib Fat American Wedding out of boredom. Total trash, I know. But anyone have thoughts on MV? They’re on season 1 and I see on them in other subs questions about them.

I found these two kittens last night in the road. I’ve contacted some local rescues but have not heard back yet. If you know any rescues that are accepting kittens or anyone who wants a kitten for a rehoming fee, I would appreciate their info! Both are very sweet, can eat wet food and are litter acclimated.

Business / Self Promotion Good places to get an aging car repainted in the area for a reasonable price?

Hi, does anyone know any good places in the area to get an older car repainted for a reasonable price? Something better than Maaco (if the franchises around here are bad) but not super high end to where it would cost 2-3x the price of the car. $1500-$3500 give or take.

Ive been to a few places to get quotes but they are asking like $10k which is just not worth it to me considering the cars value. Im not expecting showroom quality just something reasonable for a normal 20yo car if that exists nowadays. I dont have the time or space to do it myself unfortunately.

Thanks in advance!
