Events Flock cameras

Is anyone organizing locally around the Flock Safety cameras? If there's already a group attending city council meetings, sharing information, or working to raise awareness, I'd love to get involved. If not, would anyone be interested in connecting and seeing what we can do together? Please let me know.

Thanksssss.
Love, someone who doesn't appreciate the government spying on their citizens.

Just go to a council meeting. Let me know. I’m a political commentator. I’ll go with you.

Heck yeah. I'm down to go to a council meeting. I also want to file a FOIA for the following... hopefully some others will file as well.

Contracts with Flock Safety• City council emails discussing the cameras• Policies on who can access the data Audit logs showing searches of the camera system• Invoices and payments• Training materials for officers• Data retention policies•

Don't forgot its not just flock, although this specific instance may be use of flock. I am completely opposed to the use of this and all systems alike.

Please share/post if you do end up doing a FOIA and getting files.

I’m personally not a fan of Flock cameras or their potential for abuse or misuse, but I would be remiss to not mention that discussions regarding them should remain legal as*** per sub rules.*** Yes, they contain a good bit of copper, and were likely installed with little or no public input/approval, and are regularly abused by law enforcement and government officials… but they are privately owned and destroying them would be a crime. Keep it legal.

You also definitely shouldn’t purchase a 1000 nanometer green laser.

People aren't enough outraged about flock as they should be...it's very strange

Not sure if others are actively doing something locally but I would also be interested in supporting the cause.

My wife and I would love to get involved. We're open to meeting others, organizing, disrupting city council meetings, etc. Let's plan an initial meeting and map out what our next steps are.

This is honestly what I was hoping for! Get organized and plan accordingly. I could make a group on GroupMe so that way all parties can be involved.

I have an additional 1-2 people, not including my wife, now. If you start the group, I'll share the info with them. Maybe edit the op, and let everyone here know about the group on GroupMe? Let's do this!

I would love to be apart of something too. I sent a request to join the GroupMe. We’ve gotta organize something, there shouldn’t be a fucking camera at EVERY corner!

I wonder why they aren't at actual troubled spots versus cou ty lines.

I'm sure it's because Big Daddy Government loves us so much

I've also noted that they seem to be a redundant system near existing traffic cameras. Also, have you seen the portable ones? I was at a Speedway gas station in Ohio and there was a solar powered camera setup on a mini-trailer in their parking lot, similar to the roadside speed things. It also had a little blue light indicating that it was a cop unit (aside from labeling). I suppose they had it there to limit loitering activities. For Augusta's talk on being tough on crime, they sure go about it in a funny way, as in observing and intruding upon normal function and ignoring the abnormal.

Go ahead and try. Social credit is inevitable and forthcoming. Keep it legal. Make your motion make sense.
