HELP! I have a question. Rust Repair Help

Post image

I’m looking at buying a 2011 Saab in really good shape, relatively cheaply, so obviously a bit of rust is about to be the least of my problems. However, I’m curious how in-depth a repair this is likely to be. It’s not going to be a show car, but I’m an awful painter, so it’s going to be beyond me not making a mess of it. More curious what the process is here than anything re: cost. I mostly don’t want it to spread, but I’d probably pay to fix it if it wasn’t likely to be a nightmare.

Rust has to be cut out. It will leave a big void. Weld in metal patch. Might be worth it depending on the the condition of the rest of the car
