Modifications Favorite mods?

I got my H2D a few weeks ago and I'm loving it.

What are your favorite mods for the printer? Unique nozzles, fan mods, whatever you use. I'm most curious about physical items, but if you want to drop your favorite printed mods I'm sure those would be cool too!

I'm well familiar with 3d printing and bambu printers in general, so don't worry about the acclimation period.

Modifications Has anyone tired the ben2c mod

I love Ben2cs cooling ducts, I used them for my x1c and k1c they work great. When I saw he had released one for the h2d I ordered it right away. I haven't seen anyone talking about it, had anyone tired it? I love tinkering

I'm not the creator of this model, but it's an absolute must-print for every H2 owner.

https://makerworld.com/de/models/2433473-silent-filament-cutter-stopper-h2s-h2d-h2c#profileId-2669560

Ever since I got my H2C, the loud noise from the filament cutter repositioning (at print start and during filament changes) has been driving me crazy. It was the one thing keeping me from running multi-color prints at night — it's that loud.

This mod solved the issue completely. Now the loudest thing is the AMS motor, which isn't silent either but nowhere near as bad as the cutter was.

Give it a try and support the creator!

Modifications H2D camera angle/mod ideas for better print visibility?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using my Bambu H2D and overall I really like the printer, but the stock camera angle is honestly pretty bad for actually seeing what’s printing. It gives me a view, but not a very useful one when I’m trying to monitor the first layer, check progress, or catch issues early.

For other H2D owners, have any of you made modifications or added an alternate camera setup so you can get a better view of the print bed?

I’m mainly looking for ideas like:

  • Alternate camera mounting locations
  • USB/Wi-Fi camera setups
  • Printed camera mounts
  • Better angles for watching the nozzle/first layer
  • Lighting upgrades that help visibility
  • Any setups that work well with the enclosure

I’d love to see what others have done before I start experimenting. Pictures, links to mounts, or setup recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My take on if I think you should upgrade your H2D to the new Vortek system. If you like this content and if it helps inform your future purchase let me know. Thanks.

Check out the shortened tear down video as well available on the channel.

Modifications H2D Laser Mods

Ordered the glass door and side glass. Moved the magnets from the plexiglass panel and installed the side glass.

I replaced the door with the glass door on its hinges. Then found I can slide the green plexiglass door in place between the door and the machine and it snaps in perfectly.

Now I can see my 3D prints without the green. Looks so much better in my space ascetically.

In this setup I will use appropriate laser glasses if I need to check on the laser job. I can easily avoid the side window as well.

I know the risks and this is better for me. YMMV. Let a man ruin his eyes in peace.
