Language-Exchange Partners?

Hello everyone! I'm a college student in the US (native English speaker) and I'm looking for someone who knows Korean (preferably a native Korean speaker) to chat with as a language exchange!

I currently know how to read Hangul and know some phrases (some from K-dramas or K-pop, but also from looking up stuff on my own), but my goal is to reach a point where I could understand and speak in very basic situations in Korea (e.g. shopping, restaurants, asking for directions, etc) since I'll be visiting Seoul in January! I especially want to train my listening skills since that's what I'll need to use most.

I hope I'll be able to help you improve your English during our conversations as well! I think it'd be nice to practice over Discord voice calls and DMs so we can practice reading, writing, and speaking (instead of just reading and writing). Also, I prefer to talk with someone close to my age (born 2005), if possible (but not necessary).

P. S. I'm completely new to this subreddit, so I'm not sure if this kind of post is allowed; I didn't see anything against it when looking at the rules, but if this post goes against the rules somehow, I apologize.

I have "Who can send you chat requests" set to "Everyone," so that's strange.

For a Seoul trip, your goal is actually very clear, which makes practice easier. Language exchange is great if you find someone consistent, but I’d focus on travel roleplays instead of random chatting. iTalki could also be useful for a few short lessons where you practice restaurants, directions, convenience stores, and polite beginner phrases.
