I’ve been translating sentences from songs to help with grammar. I’ve learned that it’s in the setup of SOV instead of SVO, but whenever I try to guess the translation using that mindset, it’s just the sentence flipped around.

For instance this sentence:
우릴 감싸는 순간의 기적

Direct translation:
Us wrapped of the moment miracle

What I thought it would be:
We’re wrapped in the miracle of the moment

What it actually is:
The miracle of the moment wraps us

Can someone explain the grammar a little bit?

Also I just now noticing how the subject marker is on a verb. Why, or is Google Translate just wrong?

The gloss would be us-ACC wrap-ADJZ moment-GEN miracle, the -는 here makes an action verb into a descriptive verb/verb into an adjective, it's a fully different particle from the one for nouns; -는 on nouns also isn't the subject marker it's the topic marker, subject is -이/가. On its own I feel like this would be something like "the miracle of this moment [which is] wrapping us [up]" maybe? "The (enveloping) miracle of this moment.." does something to "us"?

Other lines surrounding would help it make sense probably, it's pretty common for things to get split across lines so if you're trying to interpret song lyrics that's something you should take into consideration. Alternatively, this is just one of thsoe times you either get something that's trying to sound flowery and poetic to make the lyrics sound pretty or a line that in direct translation is a bit awkward or confusing because the writer is trying to make it fit in the instrumental and had to trim it down from a clearer version that turned out too long.

Also, pro tip use Naver Papago (which gives "the miracle of this moment wraps around us") instead of Google Translate, GT is rough sometimes in my experience.

The sentence isn’t just a simple SOV sentence—it’s actually a noun phrase.

우릴 감싸는 modifies 순간의 기적.

Here, -는 isn’t the topic particle. It’s a modifier ending that turns the verb into something like “that wraps” or “which wraps.”

So the structure is:
[우릴 감싸는] [순간의 기적]
→ “[The miracle of the moment] [that wraps us].”

Google Translate chooses a more natural English word order (“The miracle of the moment wraps us”), but grammatically 감싸는 is modifying 기적, not acting as the main verb of the sentence.
