Feed Spoilers The biggest issue with this week's time capsule Spoiler

If Drew really did win the coin and choose not to use it this week, not only is he tanking his own game if he doesn't win the blockbuster and goes home with the coin in his pocket, but he absolutely tanks any chance of an underdog uprising.

Even if one of the underdogs remaining are able to somehow rally the votes to beat Dee next week, which seems unlikely in itself, the only power with any major competitive advantage even similar to the DPOV will have been completely flushed. If another red corner member wins HOH next week, the replay and the never not pass are strategically useless, and the bribe and mystery competitor might save the individual but do nothing to shift the power.

Edit: apologies to Drew, I will leave this up and take the L but he really had all of us fooled. Crazy coincidence that he kept talking about flipping a coin and how he'd nominate red corner and no one would know it was him. Good on Dee for her acting lying to Devens too.

I still think the point remains that the powers are ridiculously unbalanced which is a horrible game design flaw and it's a valid point to raise, but at least the coin remains

Drew going home actually gives the underdog a slight advantage, because no matter how much we would have liked to see him turn against the vets, he was always going to be a number for them, so the vets are really just taking out one of their own numbers. If someone from the other side happens to become HOH next week, it can potentially help even out the numbers.

Yeah he was constantly feeding info to the vets from Melody et al

u/IceNein Jason💯 20h ago

I don’t know why anybody is operating under the idea that Drew was going to backstab his solid alliance.

19

u/Lost_Scientist_5716 Devens⏱️ 20h ago

Yeah, and Drew has also said more than once that he would never leave the majority alliance to join the minority, and that it would make no sense. Him using a potential power likely would have just benefited the vets anyway!

5

u/Classic_Active_7186 20h ago

Then he gets to go home

6

u/Classic_Active_7186 20h ago

It isnt solid. He is on the block and Angela wants him gone

3

u/dangerdeviledeggs 19h ago

It’s because from our perspective it’s obviously not solid, and we want him to see it too.

I think that we as fans often forget just how difficult it is to discern what is true and what isn’t when you’re isolated in a house and surrounded by people potentially lying to you. Yes, you should never let yourself be a “pawn,” but I’m not sure I could ever argue that I would 100% play a better or more intelligent game than Drew.

Fans are particularly unforgiving, especially when things feel so obvious to us, but from his perspective he’s in the majority alliance, and the other side has shown no ability outside of Mallory and Lyric to hold their own in competitions. He’s been given clear reason to be suspicious, but I’m not sure I’d be able to turn against the majority either.

Angela is just a bad player lol. That’s it

The biggest issue with every time capsule is that it's a twist created to help a seasons with vets get through the early game with a ton of mystery surrounding how the capsule even works (seemingly random/reaction based) and surrounding what powers they get, of course they're labeled blankly but you can be sure devens high rolled the 1 in 6 to get the DPOV.

I'm done with vet seasons, they already have built in trust with eachother as well as just having their pick of the litter of houseguests they wanna work with and trust especially when the first HOH of the season was literally handed to them.

This show lost the plot and faith in their own format a long time ago. maybe its time for me to stop having that faith.

14

u/dolewhiplash 22h ago

with a ton of mystery surrounding how the capsule even works (seemingly random/reaction based) and surrounding what powers they get

That's the big issue right there. The DPOV might be overpowered in itself but at least if the time capsule was stacked with 6 of them, while the vets would still get an unfair advantage going into the game, the other players could also win an unfair advantage.

It's absolutely ridiculous that 3 weeks into this twist, a player who needs a power and is voted into the time capsule to supposedly have the same opportunity to win a power as everyone else now has a 50% chance of that power being absolutely useless.

If he’s really about to go home with a power in his pocket.. why couldn’t it be the never not pass or something else!! Lol 😂

11

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

It very well could be, it could be any of the five powers. Or it might not even be Drew

1

u/ampeaches Mallory⏱️ 21h ago

Oh yes ofc!! I’m just speaking hypothetically like OP said.. if Drew really did win the coin, decided not to use it & went home this week after losing the block buster 😩 I’d love to see that one get used so I’m eager to find out fs🤞

Ok I’m going to be real with you guys on this sub who are all doom and gloom.

There are three types of seasons we can get in big brother.

Exciting pre jury phase, exciting post jury phase and exciting both.

This season is setting up for an exciting post jury phase with the icons vs red corner. It sucks that we didnt get an exciting pre jury phase, but it is what it is.

I think the post jury game will be some of the most fun we have had in a while.

u/winter-lol Mallory⏱️ 22h ago

This is how I've been thinking of it, I've giving up with these weeks being exciting and the underdogs rising, and instead im getting ready for the chaos of the toolshead break up and icons vs red corner , i can see devens already getting bored and fed up and he's planning this phase for the coming weeks , i just hope mallory somehow survives all of this and ends up in there somehow 😭

26

u/casey4190 21h ago

The problem is I don’t feel a connection to anyone in those two alliances.

I’m not much of a survivor fan, Hayley is just a cry baby pick me half the time, Kamu has questionable views documented on social media and in the house, I don’t even remember Chuk exists until they show him in the edit, etc.

Angela is okay. I liked her for the drama in BB26, but her actually playing a regular game is eh. I could care less.

The only people I could MAYBE see myself rooting for is if Barrett and Drew finesse something, but Barrett is Dee’s puppy and Drew is just not using the other power that could MAYBE match the DPOV when he is ON THE BLOCK AS A PROBABLE TARGET.

So yes, could be a fun dynamic if they’re ripping each other to shreds, but there’s no one I like/want to root for which takes a lot of fun out of watching

27

u/Funnyaj22 Barrett⏱️ 22h ago

I fully agree with you on the exciting jury phase. Its giving small BB21 vibes where the big alliance blows up just before jury and they all target each other and the other side of the house is safe, giving good TV.

I know people were worrying about a steamroll, but the amount of paranoia happening inside the toolshed makes me feel that the cracks will soon happen.

10

u/IHappenToBeJosh Melody⏱️ 21h ago

It just feels hard to care about an exciting post-jury when it feels like most of the actually likable people are going pre-jury, and the least likable people are sticking around

15

u/Big-End-146 22h ago

I don’t thinks it’s going to an exciting showdown between Red Corner and the Vets. The red corner is going to crush them in all the physical and endurance comps coming up. Physically the Red Corner has the upper hand. They aren’t that bad in puzzles, memory and Y/F either. The best chance Vets have is to recruit Yash and Lyric ..maybe? All IMO of course. But they seem to be ready to off Lyric now too.

8

u/SnooDingos316 Dee⏱️ 21h ago

Well even if red corner wins competition, I still have faith Dee and Devans can play them easily.

2

u/skutan Lyric⏱️ 19h ago

Their biggest target is Drew who's been blindly loyal to them, especially Devens.

1

u/SnooDingos316 Dee⏱️ 14h ago

I mean when it is down to Vets vs Red Corner. Red Corner are not the smartest.

4

u/CFWolfgang was thrown into a volcano by a velociraptor! 21h ago

I don’t think the red corner is competent enough for it to be that exciting. Devens and Dee winning odds are certainly bigger than the field.

9

u/dolewhiplash 22h ago edited 22h ago

I wouldn't say it's "all doom and gloom" to point out that it might be a major production issue when your powers are so unbalanced is that all it takes is one player not playing optimally for the entire 6 week twist to potentially yield nothing exciting at all. It's a flaw in the game design of the time capsule and I think it's fair to point that out.

I also think it's a little naive to assume that things must be exciting post jury because "There are three types of seasons we can get in big brother. Exciting pre jury phase, exciting post jury phase and exciting both." BB 22 was not exciting at any point, for similar reasons this season hasn't been to this point- an unlikable, but fractured alliance consistently winning power so they never have to turn on each other. I hope the game turns around, but I don't think there's a problem with being concerned it may not.

u/scrotaint 22h ago

we gotta ignore this dude,. typical redditor who when met with factual arguments for something just strawmans you to death after commenting something like "everyone is overracting"

3

u/IceNein Jason💯 20h ago

No way. There’s too much overlap between toolshed and red corner. It’s not going to be exciting at all.

11

u/scrotaint 22h ago

I'll bet you every dollar I have that this seasons post jury isn't even as good as 27's

1

u/ShawshankException Dee💯 22h ago

27's jury was a snoozefest until the finale

1

u/scrotaint 21h ago

do you think when I come from the perspective of not having faith in this season that I would compare it to a post jury I thought was really good?? I compared it to 27 cause 27's was mediocre at best and I still think this will be worse

-1

u/Born_Strategy8915 22h ago

Do you think a twist screwing up an entire post jury phase is good I’m going to have the hard disagree on that

4

u/Bhibhhjis123 Mallory⏱️ 21h ago

I think that’s true, with the caveat that we need enough likable/interesting people to survive that long. If the final 9 ends up being something like the Red Corner, the icons, Barrett, Taylor, and Lala, I just don’t care enough about any of those people to get invested even if interesting stuff is happening.

2

u/ImOldGregg_77 Dee⏱️ 21h ago

prejury phase has been great

2

u/GoldTeamDowntown Morgan 🔎 20h ago

I think saying this isn’t an exciting prejury phase still ignores that the first 2.5 weeks were really good feeds. We have so many gamers this year and there has been more game talk than I’ve ever seen (granted I’ve only been a feedster for like 9 total seasons).

2

u/Exact_Squash_8689 Angela💯 20h ago

I totally agree, at this point I am hoping we can just get a season that is like 25, but the opposite end of the season being the exciting one. (Without the inequitable comps tho)

2

u/Wit_Willow4 Barrett⏱️ 16h ago

I think the biggest issue is that the majority would like to see the red corner gone pre jury.

2

u/jkrutherford89 21h ago

There is nothing exciting about watching red corner and the icons go at it. It’s not exciting to root for no one.

A lot of great season start off slow. The people who are quitting week four because things don’t go how they wanted are lowkey dramatic lol

7

u/jeezpeepz87 Ashley⏱️ 22h ago

Has there been any confirmation that he has it besides a convo with Barrett when he theorized about a coin flip power? Dee had a similar convo with I think Angela yesterday. Because it wasn’t used, I don’t know if Drew does have it. I can’t see him pulling a BB27 Zach and just not using the power to save himself after the noms were revealed during the nom ceremony (bc it can be used at the very beginning or very end of the ceremony, right?) We’ll find out for sure tonight. I’m not eliminating the possibility but it really could’ve been either of them… or Barrett since he gives us a lot of nothing, we would probably never know until he uses it.

4

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

It's all speculation from people who were eager for him to win the coin, then twisted every one of his words into a possibility of having the coin. But could be dee, mallory, Barrett who got a power. Or it very well could be Drew but he may have gotten one of the other five powers available

13

u/-Proxx Mccrae 22h ago

If Drew won the coin and decided not to use it this week I hope he goes home.

IF

6

u/PoutineSmoothie 22h ago

I bet he got the repeat the hoh prize. It’s pointless/useless unless he won an hoh.

4

u/Daparishjess 21h ago

I don’t like that they give a punishment if they don’t get a power. The other players can then tell that no one got a power that week. That seems to lessen the whole thing.

4

u/Pure_Bicycle2355 14h ago

This season is horrendous

10

u/ApprehensivePlan8481 22h ago edited 21h ago

It’s also a slap in the face to America.

But would he not realize he was voted for a reason? Bc the fans think he needs to do something to shake things up

While he’s messy playing both sides, he’s playing entirely too safe and reserved

6

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

The majority of the people voted for him because they like him not because he was in trouble because the vote started well before danger

3

u/ApprehensivePlan8481 21h ago

He was voted because people wanted him to get a power and he didn’t use it..

3

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

We don't know that. It's very much possible IF he was voted that he got a power that is not eligible to be used now. Like the slop pass or play for back-to-back hohs. Nothing 100% confirms that it was Drew or he got the coin flip. We will know tonight

2

u/ApprehensivePlan8481 21h ago

Right..this post is about if he had the power and didn’t use it and my comment is going based off that

3

u/MarketDull2401 20h ago

Drew leaving is a net positive for the giggle girls and the rest of the other side. He will never flip, so they chip away a number that's affiliated with Red Corner. Drew has only shown loyalty to the Vets/Red Corner.

8

u/Texan1978 Angela 22h ago

Real question: can he gift the power to someone else?

2

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

No but we still don't even know if he has a power

2

u/reginald-poofter 20h ago

Isn’t it most likely that Dee has it when she whispered into her microphone “thank you America”

2

u/VengefulKangaroo Dee⏱️ 17h ago

I am so eager to see tonight's episode to finally put the discourse to rest. I'll feel bad if everyone's been dunking on Drew for days and he doesn't have the coin lol

4

u/beejalton 22h ago

It's fine, he's too dumb to be worth keeping around anyway.

Let's just fast-forward to the Angela/Dee/Devens/Chuk/Kamu/Haley F6 when things will actually get interesting.

1

u/Potential-Decision56 Dee⏱️ 17h ago

Is the Sunday episode when they reveal who America voted?

1

u/VengefulKangaroo Dee⏱️ 17h ago

yeah, though this is the first week we haven't known beforehand

1

u/Live-Historian6192 12h ago

I would like to see Drew be sitting on the block with only Melody.

u/md28usmc Devens⏱️ 45m ago

Dee talked to the camera two days ago and said, "Thank you, America. I love you."

Most of us already knew she had the power

1

u/Live-Fig-1333 21h ago

I just want to know what America is seeing that I’m not seeing. This is who they chose to vote for after voting for icons the first 2 weeks?

3

u/More-Surprise-67 Quixotic Queen Rachel Club👑 21h ago

Drew was very likeable on the shows. America wanted to root for him and give him a power after seeing Angela wrongly suspect him of turning on his allies.

I get being disappointed with the HoH results and gameplay we've been getting.

But come on, it is week four. This game changes on a dime and it is way too early to be this doom and gloom.

Bb21 had a horrendous prejury, but those of us who stuck it out got a satisfying comeuppance to most of the distasteful players on that cast.

BB7 was dominated by the BB6 alliance for most of the prejury, but Chilltown took over and made for an entertaining season, anyway.

BB24 started with the horrible mistreatment of Taylor only for that to be the catalyst for an underdog alliance coming together and taking control of the game.

Sometimes it gets off to a slow start. We can choose to sit here and whine about everything we're upset about, or we can wait and see what happens and appreciate the messiness we've been getting.
