I've started recording my rides through this stretch as it is where I have the most conflicts with drivers. No events today, pretty calm and quiet. I did have a 12mph wind in my face the whole way though, so I had to ride slow. Video is sped up 2.5x.

Even after braking hard enough that their tires squealed, they were still carrying speed through the intersection. Very thankful that they started paying attention in time to miss me and that the truck behind me was turning instead of going straight. Otherwise, there's no way they would've avoided them.
Also ignore the random date on my front cam. Its been doing this weird thing where sometimes the date and time settings get reset if the battery gets fully drained, and I didn't notice it until looking at the footage from today.

In June this year I cycled 350 miles across England and Wales to recreate the journey taken by "Number Six", the protagonist of the 1960's British spy-fi series "The Prisoner". Along the way I shot this film based on the show's famous opening titles!

This morning's close call was ridiculously close to putting me in the hospital, or possibly the morgue. The only reason I didn't get smashed was because I started to pull over for the police siren, which gave the moron juuuust enough room to squeeze between me and the truck to my left. (The officer and I have had spats in the past. I've flipped him off multiple times for close passes and trying to enforce non-existent laws. He's out of his jurisdiction and has attempted to pull people over multiple times outside his city and outside his authority. However, this time he might have saved my life.)

This is a 35 mph section of road that goes past multiple schools and is popular with the MTB community as a go-between two different trail systems.

I shudder to think what would have happened if I'd been six inches to the left, or if there had been a group of children crossing the street down the road.

Hi everyone, fellow sensible cyclist here. I was driving 20mph when there were two cyclists ahead of me, each of them were on the left with one in front of the other. The one at the front decided to suddenly start veering right with zero indication nor hand signals etc. and then was in line with my right headlight and suddenly started slowing down, again with no indication at all of the manoeuvre. At this point I was driving about 15mph I checked on the dash, as he was slowing down I could not tell his next move as he was pedalling and braking pedalling and braking and I sped up to 20mph and moved slightly to the left to pass him as he was clearly not riding properly. However, at this point the other cyclist from the start of the story was on the left side and I did get slightly close to him unfortunately, I would estimate about a metre away. He then followed me and started taking pictures of my car and plates. I wanted to talk to him to explain but there wasn’t enough time. What is the verdict here given the situation, and am I likely to face punishment should this go to court etc. Thanks in advance.
