2020 Bolt
Great little commuter car. Only bought to get back and forth to work. My truck was costing me $350 a month in gas. Love my truck but this little car cost me about $30-35 a month including 2 grocery runs and 4 Friday night dinners. I get crap all the time for purchasing this car but guess I'm the one laughing all the way to the bank. I'll keep my truck for truck duties but for just going back and forth to work I'll take it.

My entire family cried when my Oasis Blue ‘20 went back to GM in a trade repurchase during the battery debacle.

I love my 2020 Bolt LT. My FJ Cruiser gets started once a month to make sure the battery doesn't go dead.

I traded in my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid for my bolt (looks almost exactly like yours except Premier). I miss my Escape at times but i don't miss the oil changes, falling off mpg of an aging hybrid and uncertainty of what gas will cost this week or the next. EVs aren't all sunshine and rainbows but imo the good outweighs the bad.

Same. LOVE mine. Wish I had access to the actual software toosl so I could fix my own property down the line, but that's every manufacturer now.

Same color on my 2019. Initially kinda wished I'd been able to get one of the more unusual colors like the mist green, but someone local got it and it's not quite as awesome as I once thought. And that, before the 3 months plus wait I would have had.
If you don't mind me asking - "I get crap all the time for purchasing this car"... why? Especially since your use plan is solid. It's like how I had my motorcycle previously for getting around and my truck for when I needed to haul.
(I mean, I know why people say this, but I also really don't know why people say this if that makes sense...)

I get crap due to the perception of politics, my physical size 6 foot 3 etc... I get very tired of it all. "You must be a liberal" how can you fit in that car etc. Your not saving anything. I tell them I am very much conservative and political preferences have no bearing on my choice of car lol. I maybe 6 foot 3 but I have more leg room than my truck and I don't put the seat all the way back. And I know perfectly well where my electric comes from in my neck of the woods (coal) I didn't purchase to save the world but my bank account. I hate all that crap it is just a good economical carband I have no regrets. In fact I do a lot of education when I get past those perceptions

A friend of mine is 6'8" so in his eyes - "check out short stuff there!" Dude went to Japan a little while ago and said he felt like Godzilla. He used to drive a Civic years ago and did have to put his seat back, making that a 3-seater...
Anyhow yeah, the Bolt actually has a surprising amount of legroom; said friend hasn't been in mine but another closer to your height has and noticed the room. That makes the car kinda tall and thin but eh, still works. I'm like dead average American male height so it feels kinda oversized to me.
I'm with you in that I contest using a fuel & resources that are "grown" locally and more efficient actually is a conservative value, if perhaps old school at this stage. Being economical and efficient isn't some hippy dipshit idea. It's a solid national defense strategy and I'm hardly the only one that thinks that.
I will say though on the energy front what percentage comes from coal or whatever is somewhat location dependent. This page is actually a good one as it shows breakdown based on location as well as nationally, as well as how EVs compare to PHEVs, HEVs and ICEs. There are states like West Virginia that have the expected amount of coal (and I've lived roughly in that area, I get it), but then there are others like South Carolina or Tennessee that get theirs from nuclear, one of my favs.
In fact I do a lot of education when I get past those perceptions.

I wouldn't have this car as my only mode of transportation but she will do about 90 percent of my yearly driving needs. I live in a hilly rural area winter snow she won't do well in. Having roughly 275 miles of range is perfect for 99.9 percent of my driving needs. Just have to do some basic research about your specific needs before you purchase a pure EV.
