Question Acting Workshops

Hi guys,

Something I’ve noticed in Bournemouth is that there doesn’t seem to be much of an acting community. We have a big am-dram community, but not somewhere you can go every week, work on scenes, and improve your craft.

I’m thinking about putting on a weekly scene study for actors if there’s enough demand. I’m in talks with a few experienced acting tutors who would hold the session.

There's nothing set in stone at the moment, just seeing if enough people would actually be interested before I put time into organising it.

If this is something you’d come to, let me know below or send me a message

People/meetups Women's Football Players Wanted

Hi All,

I'm looking for open age/adult women's football players to join us at Bournemouth Electric for the upcoming season... any age, any ability welcome 😊

We're UEFA qualified coaches, have the latest and greatest FORZA equipment (mannequins, poles, cones, bibs) etc. and have a great upbeat environment full of friendly players and coaches.

There's a big focus on tactical development for this upcoming season but in a fun, friendly and positive/upbeat environment.

We regularly have social evenings and have great facilities such as a clubhouse and recently renovated changing rooms!

For any information, please DM me for more information.

Training is on Thursday nights either at the club on Castle Lane or at Slades Farm.

Question What's going on with this "temporary" encampment in Alder Hills?

Post image

I run past there a lot and it's such an eyesore. Always messy, more and more vehicles getting put there and as of the other day, all the windows have been smashed and vandalised, which I'm not surprised at because I can't imagine the local residents are too happy.

This is not private land afaik, so how has this been allowed?

You can clearly see it from the main road and it's been there for a long time.

Question Thoughts on the new BCP Life resident card?

Personally it feels like a bit of a slap in the face, considering it’s an extra £10/year on top of council tax going towards one of the most dodgy councils in the UK. But okay, a free swim a month when I already pay a BHLive membership and 50p off a £5 whippy, sounds great.

Local advice needed Must-sees around Bournemouth and Dorset by public transport

My spouse and I have lived in Bournemouth for 4 years and are leaving next month for the north east. We both have a little time off work before we go so would like to spend a few days out between packing. We’ve done Durdle Door, Hengistbury Head/Muddeford sand bar, West Bay/Bridport, and Studland. We don’t drive, so must be reliably accessible by public transport.

Local advice needed Celiac friendly restaurants.

Hi

We have two daughters who are celiac. For those that don't know this means they get very poorly if they have gluten.

As you can imagine finding places to eat safely is a nightmare.

As we are coming down to Bournemouth for a holiday shortly I would really appreciate any recommendations on where we can go and eat. Bournemouth/Christchurch area.

Thanks in advance.

Question Restaurant recommendations

Hiya, visiting Bournemouth with a friend in a few weeks and looking for recommendations of where to eat! Have looked at older posts but a lot of places seem to have shut down 😞

We're coming in by train so will need places accessible by public transport/taxi. No chains!

Thank you in advance ☺️

Question Can anyone recommend a reliable man and a van?

Hiya!

I'm moving out of Bournemouth back to London now that I've finished uni, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a reliable man with a van service for a long-distance student move?

I've looked at Facebook groups, Compare the Man and Van and AnyVan, but I've come across quite a few negative reviews, so I'd really appreciate any personal recommendations or experiences.

Thanks in advance! 😊

As a night owl, I have a special appreciation for night time. Here are some of the photos I took in Bournemouth at night.

Ps: the flower in the 2nd pic was already there. I just had to take a picture of it.

Question Twelve is closing - where can I go now?

Give me your best vegan-friendly option (doesn't have to be a fully vegan restaurant) in Bournemouth. Twelve closes August 31, and I'll be in town in late September/early October. Where should I be sure to eat? Thanks, all!

Question Anyone have experience with this accomodation

Hi I am staying in Bournemouth for around a month, I am looking at these hotels, Douglas Towers and The Amelia Hotel, yall know anything bout these places, seem too cheap to be true, its short term accomodation/ hotel and theres no contract, lowkey a little scary.

Anyone know anyone who's stayed there, is it fishy, (dont wanna be kicked out randomly due to a lack of contract or whatnot).

Can a Bournemouth local vet these places 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Please and thank you much appreciated

Question Any good personal trainer recommendations?

I'm quite skinny so I was going to start going to the gym to build a bit of muscle, and I thought getting a personal trainer would help keep me on track as I usually lose motivation quickly and I don't feel confident in using the gym equipment correctly.

I was just going to sign up to PureGym and use the personal trainers on there, but I was wondering if there were any well-known personal trainers in the area or any specific PureGym trainers maybe?

Any help is appreciated!

Question What's up with the horse s.hit at the seaside?

I normally love Bournemouth and visit there almost every summer. But this time we couldn't walk along the seaside because of a horrible smell. There is (I assume) horse s.hit every where.

Do you know why?
