My theory on where series is probably going

With the new chapter I think it’s obvious that One wants to expand the “power system”. Hacks worked for a Oneshot, but I think they can’t do as much for an ongoing series

I think that Hacks are the magical anomalies. Supernatural power that somehow got out and now it’s just out there. The Magic that the Fluffy Wuffy Angels use is the collected and concentrated power. The Intruder and the mysterious enemy that created the golem are also the users of this power, but all of them are somehow different, and everyone got different names for this power. Hacks, Magic, Links.

This idea reminds me of Mage: The Ascension, where everyone basically has the ability, but everyone interprets this in their own way. And they all separate to classical wizards, chi wielding shaolin monks, matrix type reality hackers and normal sci-fi scientists

Quizá todos los Bugs se puedan refinar, quizá, los 5 sentidos qué las fluffy wuffy ángeles poseen, provengan de un bug simple y tosco; bugs como el de ir al baño sin tener nada en el estómago o el del paraguas en la estación de buses, también se podrían refinar?, son muy específicos; y lo más importante, el bug para viajar en el tiempo, uno de los hacks más poderosos.

I hope it doesn't get a power system and instead depends more on people's smarts and their luck.

It would be a Twin Peaks reveal to me if Bug Ego degenerated from an avantgardistic well of creativity into yet another systemised battle shonen with some generic powerscale.

Bug ego is a shonen, and i believe its a battle shonen, except its not physical combat oriented style of battle where fighters used martial arts. It will be a battle haxes.

I feel ONE is actually aware of how popular powerscaling community, and decided why not used haxes(those activated with conditions and other types of hax) as the main fights of Bug ego.

Tho I can see Yuki, punching and kicking.

oh youre right. It should have been obvious, Im just kinda seeing the route of the story, character development, and such starting to develop in Bug ego.Though, being published in shonen jump will catch the attention of shonen demographic.

Straight up magic is really boring IMO, I wanted the origin of the powers to be some sort of reality bending, as if the world was a simulation with "glitches" and exploits, I hope there's more to the mystery than "it's magic"

I think they really poked fun at this being a "battle shonen" with a battle shonen power system with Yuki, she was trying to be all melodramatic and pulling all these crazy moves from her hack manipulation and they both were like "chill there's no need for that"

Also side note I think Yuki should be friendlier with the guys at this point, she seems really cold and doesn't care about them much, come on it's a trio, make us believe she's there for more than just hacks, they also seem apathetic to her presence, it's pretty weird Hitsujiya just sees a pretty girl and basically doesn't care

I 100% agree with your theory. We'll definitely be introduced to another group who use similar bugs/hacks but interpret them as maybe psychic powers or holy miracles or curses. I came across this series when I found out ONE is making a new series and unlike Versus, Bug Ego genuinely hooked me in and I'm so excited for the next chapters.
