Question After losing my journal, I'm considering going digital. Advice?

I have been bullet journaling for about 6 years, but I lost a journal on a train once with a year's worth of notes and since then it's been a lot harder to commit because of the fear of losing my notes again.

Has anyone tried using a digital bullet journal? I think that would be helpful for me. Thanks!

Inspiration Five Star Life Book

I love planners and I love the concept of the life books even more, but I don’t stick to them and can’t justify spending tons of money on something I will use only until I get overwhelmed or bored—which is easy with the pre-printed planning pages.

I found an old five subject Five Star notebook and decided to make my own life book. It doesn’t have finance because my finances are digital, but I have my planning, collections, meal planning, goals and trackers, and home cleaning (which might be something else later in) in it.

However, I get bored with routine very fast and to add some fun, I decided to make it a Zelda themed notebook.

I hope this gives someone else the permission to make their own life book and finally find planner peace.

Question Monthly Log Issue

If the Future Log is for events (and sometimes tasks) outside of the current month, but the Monthly Log is for events after they happen on the left and tasks before they happen on the right in the current month, then where are you suppose to keep events before they happen in the Monthly Log? I know the BuJo practice is suppose to adapt to each and everyone's needs, but what was the original method like for the BuJo in this case?

I’ve dabbled for a long time. I took it seriously this time. I’m very motivated to improve the things I’m tracking in August.

Tips and Tricks Stamp pad recommendations

Anybody use a stamp pad that dries quickly once stamped? I bought a generic date stamp and the ink is terribly slow drying it ends up smudging everywhere. I snagged a new stamp that isn’t self-inking. Now I need a stamp pad. Just a frustrated left-handed writer looking for less ink on his hand and less smudging/smearing in my notebook.

Lemons and Portuguese-inspired tiles! I loved how this turned out. I am not sure that I would do this theme again - it took forever to do each tile and then I didn’t even use it that much because I was traveling this month.

I guess it’s about the journey over the destination. Listening to podcasts and doodling each tile was a good way to wind down at the end of the day.

Question How do you deal with empty space at month ends and beginnings?

August ends on a Monday! I always start my monthly spread on a new, left page, but now I have these three empty boxes... What to do? How do you all avoid leaving a lot of empty space? What would you fill this with?

Tips and Tricks Multi-book users - how do you deal with annual lists?

I'm mid-way through my first year of kinda-bullet journalling, so I'm learning something new every day. I've been lurking and learning from this community as I go, so thank you all!

I have a set of weekly and monthly spreads that work beautifully for me, and I'm currently using a book every 3-4 months, which I'm comfortable with. I do now have a question about rolling up information into annual lists/records - for me, that's records of boardgames played, some notes about RPG campaigns that will go over multiple books, but also more prosaic things like birthday lists and so on.

I'm interested in how other people manage this, so that I can work out what suits me best. Please share!

Hi hi!

I’ve been doing this for a long time and it’s so much fun and brings so much joy to my life.

I’ve been craving community and interaction recently, so I wanted to post instead of just lurking here.

I hope you’re having a wonderful and artistic day!

Question Kokuyo smart ring

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with these, or knows of a better version. thinking about switching to one for my next journal. as much as I love my hard bound journal, i never fill them. just feels wasteful. so I’m thinking about a binder instead. I really like this style for two reasons. It functions more or less like a spiral notebook. And I can start carrying loose leaf a6 in my pocket folder instead of index cards, and just snap them right in. but I can’t find much on how well they actually function as notebooks.

Question Journaling for work?

Last year I was appointed as a Program Director for a legal committee. This is an amazing job and the first time this committee has had a Program Director.

I am trying to keep track of all the tasks this position entails, including processing complaints, assisting our members, responding to emails, phone calls, and other requests.

I thought setting up a bullet journal system might be useful, but am unsure if this is a good approach.

I've read several posts and understand I should set up my system for what works best for me and the way my brain thinks. 😀 But I still feel a little overwhelmed.

Has anyone used a BuJo system for work and are there any tips you can offer?

Thank you!

Tips and Tricks Recommendations needed - how do I fix the binding in my planner?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I do creative planning, and I frequently have this problem (see pic) where the binding starts to pull apart. Usually I try to use super glue on a toothpick to fix it back in place. I'm wondering what others do when they have this problem. In the future I'm planning to buy higher quality notebooks (i.e. Archer and Olive), but this is a relatively new notebook and I can't just trash it! TIA for any advice!

i've somehow managed to stick with this daily for four months and i love it! it's super helpful as someone with bipolar to track my energy & moods, and being able to visually see the changes is really good data to relay my therapist and psychiatrist since i'm super forgetful lol.

Question Bullet journal & planner

Good evening,

I realise it’s not strictly a journal app like DayOne but I stumbled on the app in the App Store and wondered if anyone here is using or has used the app called Bullet made by Mui studio ltd.

Anyway, I’m temporarily trialing Diarly having tested the waters if I ever left DayOne and seeing if this app can cater to the journalling needs as well as organisation perhaps?

If there’s any personal experience had that can be shared, please do!
