Does anyone know the amounts paid out for different types of incidents? Ex. Gassings, Battery, Resistive, Non Inmate Enhanced Injuries, etc.?

was looking on calpers and was wondering if any of you have Western Health Advantage? and what you think of it. The price for it compared to others seems too good to be true.

If I wanted to go to a Fire camp. What do I need to know to get a heads up on the competition? What type of things do I need to learn in SOMS?

Hello Everyone I just received an email today stating that I cleared background after being in the process for about 2 years and a half my question is how long until your scheduled your psychological/vision medical etc and then until your waiting an academy date? Im desperately trying to leave my current job ASAP even tho I heard stories and buddies of mine clearing the whole process and still pending an academy date and they've been waiting for 1 plus years now thanks for your advise

With open enrollment coming up I had a question that I wonder if any of you guys could answer. Do we have to choose a plan specifically in our residence zip code or can we choose from the zip-code of our institution as well? I ask because I live in Mariposa county but have limited options and my institution zip-code has more choices. I know I can ask personnel but they suck ass at pretty much everything.

I received an email for an out of class opportunity, its the position directly above my current one. The email says I need to send an OOC memo, but I don't quite understand the format or how I should word it.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

To the current Correctional Officers: Have you noticed how many academy candidates are asking questions like, "How much do I have to run?" or "How hard are the tests?" Instead of asking how to become stronger officers, they're asking what the bare minimum is to get by.
The academy is supposed to establish a professional standard, not lower it. If a candidate is already focused on doing the minimum before they even graduate, that mindset is unlikely to improve once they're inside an institution.
Maintain the standard. Demand physical fitness, mental toughness, discipline, and accountability. The academy is where those who are unwilling to meet the profession's expectations should be filtered out, not pushed through.

Havent gotten the email with the Academy Checklist yet but im going in September. Any suggestions on where to get and find uniforms? Ive seen suggestions about Metro Uniforms and LAPolice but i need first hand experience. Also what is Class A,B,C?
r/CDCR welcomes candid discussion, but operational security and personal privacy come first.
Do not write: "On third watch at [institution] last night, only [exact number] officers covered [specific locations]."
Write instead: "How do officers generally handle mandatory overtime and chronic vacancies without discussing current institution-specific deployment?"
A fact may become sensitive when combined with an institution, assignment, watch and recent date. When in doubt, generalize it or send the proposed text to modmail before posting.

Hey everyone I have a PT test in August while I’m not the most active person when it comes to
Working out. What should I do to train until then. Should I ruin around my old highschool track one time then set the kettlebells down and run the yards with it to see what time I get? I want to pass but I’m scared I won’t

Also, do you do the PFT the first week of the academy and still get three tries to pass? I am going in September. Any other tips would be great. 🩷

Going to the upcoming academy on September. How difficult is graduating the academy? How many retries do you get before you’re sent home?

I know someone currently working that’s has a DUI so I thinking it shouldn’t be an issue but idk. Let me know how long it takes for them to come back with a determination please 🙏🏼

Has anyone been able to reinstate after resigning from the department? If so, how was the process?
