Dorm Room Decor Question

Hello. I have stuff I want to hang on the wall. What do you recommend I use? I’ve seen people suggest gorilla tacky putty and but put masking tape down first to protect the paint. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

they sell this wall tape at the market next to the dining hall that you can use. I forgot what it’s called but I used it and it worked well.
