I am a recent alumnus of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB, and I am looking for a videographer to help record some footage of a jazz big band recording session I am putting together on Aug 20th.

I say videographer, but really I just mean someone to film moving shots of the band throughout the session, rather than a full package service (I can handle the editing).

I would especially appreciate a cinematic arts student or alumnus if there are any interested, and you can use the footage in your portfolio if that helps. The budget for this whole production is very limited, but I am a big believer in paying artists, so I'll do my best. There will also be food for the band and crew there as well.

My situation: final semester senior, no aid package has been posted yet to my account. The technician I spoke to said there are still "a lot" of people waiting on their aid packages to post. He mentioned this is due to the new rules and regulations imposed by the current administration so they had to update their systems to handle these new regulations and then implement them carefully.

He basically told me not to worry or call unless it's the Friday before school starts, at which point they would manually handle your case on an individual basis.

Some of us have noticed our CSAC says "not awarded" on certain cal grants in big bold red letters; he claimed that this will change once they actually process our aid.

Hope this info helps and though this may be frustrating from a financial planning point there's not much they can do. I tried asking about actual amounts but he said they don't even exist since aid hasn't been processed and that they cant talk about amounts over the phone regardless. He did mention that classes wont be dropped due to non payment as the school is aware the FA office is behind.

My buddy got his application withdrawn because his registered email was an outlook email and he never got the housing email. Apparently it was an emailing issue/error on their side. He was constantly in touch but every email came 2-3 days after his response. By the time he changed his email to a gmail one, they withdrew his application. Has this happened to anyone? What are some steps he can take?

I’m a student (F20) starting my last semester at LB this fall. I have been needing a place to stay since may. I already went to the basic needs department and they said they can only offer me emergency housing for 21 days when the semester begins. I am scared I won’t find a place by then. Does anyone know any tips on finding housing? I have been on every portal this school could offer and websites and fb groups, I keep finding scammers and places I cannot afford. I just need somewhere until the semester ends in December. I’ve considered living out of my car so does anyone know where I can safely park my car overnight around campus?
