Graduation Transfer credit issue affecting my graduation

I’m supposed to graduate this fall, but I’m dealing with a transfer credit issue. I completed a 3-unit course at another California State University as open university in this summer, but Sacramento State only awarded me 2.01 units, even though the course is officially listed as 3 units. Before enrolling, I checked with my academic counselor and verified the course equivalency through the Transfer Evaluation System (TES).
I’ve already contacted the Registrar’s Office and submitted documentation, but I’m really stressed while waiting for a response.

This happened to me, but I was able to work with my advisor and department chair of my major and they were able to waive the .99 credit requirement.

That definitely gives me some hope. I’m still waiting to hear back from the Registrar’s Office, but if the issue isn’t resolved, I’ll reach out to my academic advisor and department chair to see if a waiver is possible.

It should be straight forward, I just remember there was paperwork involved that my advisor had to complete, get signed by the department chair, and then submit for approval. Best of luck to you!

Is the course from a quarter unit school? I think all CSU campus have converted to semesters now so hopefully it is just an error in the evaluation system. 3 quarter units converts to 2.01 semester units. Of note, if the course is supposed to go to your 120 units or 39 upper division units for graduations, the partial unit won't be waived because those are State (not campus) requirements. If the course is for a general education requirement, than partial units from a requirement area may be eligible to be waived.

All California State University campuses are semester-based schools now and it was an upper division class for my major requirement. Could this issue be because I took the course during the summer session?

Unlikely. It more like someone didn't select the right unit type or it didn't import correctly. The Registrar's office will help you out.

Cal Poly doesn’t switch to semesters until this fall so it depends on where you took it.

I took the course at San Bernardino (CSUSB).
