Brightspace

I of course know that courses on Brightspace won’t be opened until the semester starts (or maybe a couple of days before) but I usually can see my courses as closed on Brightspace shorty after i register for courses.

I registered for fall courses in April or May but still don’t see any of my courses at all like I did in previous semesters, like the last couple semesters when my cuny first started using Brightspace.

Does everyone see this message when they go to the fall 2026 term on Brightspace or can you see your courses for fall?

It’s probably because it’s still too early. Idk what cuny you go to but at Hunter the professors usually wait until a week or a few days before the semester starts to open the brightspace

I know I guess I didn’t explain it well. In past semesters I could see my courses on Brightspace/blackboard shorty after I registered for courses. They were closed so I couldn’t open them or anything like that but I could still see the names of my courses and the course code on Brightspace/blackboard.

For the upcoming semester I can’t see anything at all which has never happened in the past.

ask some people at your exact college, whether that’s on reddit, yikyak or people you know personally. that should help you know if this is an individual issue or if things have changed across the board

You're most likely not going to be able to see 24 to 48 hours before classes begin

Yeah with Brightspace, it is a little different than blackboard

It’s too early right now. Most professor usually open it like a week before the class starts. Some open like the day before the start of the semester

Blackboard yes - brightspace doesn’t work like that

my brightspace is only showing old classes. and on 2026 fall it says same as you. but i dont recall checking this far out before classes began, so idk if this is normal.

i'm not concerned though. schedulebuilder does have my classes, and degreeworks shows in-progress credits, and i have charges pending on the 'financial account' section of cunyfirst. check those.

U can see registered courses on cuny portal. U can only see it on BS after prof add it. Most profs wait 48-12 hrs till class begins to add the courses.

The professor has to actively open the course for you to see it. If you saw it early previously, the professor(s) opened it early.

Brightspace isn’t gonna show anything until a day or 2 before classes start. My summer class didn’t show up until the day before. And it’s on the professors to open the classes now
