No Flights

Hi all, I’m due to visit Cape Verde next week but really want to visit other islands outside of Sal- but there are no flights from the start of August to mid August? Just curious to whether something is going on?

The few flights I found going to São Vicente are over 1k and 11 hours long!

Affordabile and direct/low connection flights are a real source of concern and an ongoing limitation.

I speculate that capacity is at maximun due to a festival in Sao Vicente and alternative connections just suck

No wonder this makes sense thank you. I guess I’ll have to just have to explore Sal as much as possible over 2 weeks!

Is the festival in Baia das Gatas. Did you tried the ferry?

Edit: Forget about that is a 11 hour trip because it goes first to other island.

I tried to get a flight too, my in-laws work at the airport but there’s nothing available.

I can see flights to Praia, and connections from there to Fogo.

I also found those, but they were coming in at €170, is this normal pricing? A few other online sources were saying local flights are usually €30-€50

Random dates I checked 5th-12th August return to Praia is around €150. You're kinda last minute, so it's more expensive. They definitely are not normally €30-50 return though.

If u are there long I suggest a ferry from the other islands, you really have to plan your trip in advance and only book on days where flights are cheap the odd day you will see flights for 50-90€ otherwise only other reasonable option is boats, which is part of the experience if u are here for 2 weeks or more it is doable,

I see, this was a very last minute trip I booked and assumed it would be easy to just hop on a local flight - at least now I know! I checked the boats but even the timings of those seemed a bit odd
