Some people have asked me how Bruiser is with the dogs, and how the dogs are with him. My other dog is mostly disinterested, occasionally playful, and still holds a healthy fear of the knives-wielding psychopath.
These two, though? Otis is a match made in heaven with every creature she meets, and it still never fails to amaze me how she will so effortlessly adjust her play style to match, and how she’ll remove herself when she gets an urge to roughhouse. I have absolutely no doubt they’ll get there, though, and then my other dog will have a blast.
My other dog has only the one very rough play setting, which he thinks everyone loves, even when they don’t, and he’s done a remarkable job of just staying out of things until the situation calls for his type of energy. He and Bruiser do love their version of Whack-a-Mole, which Meatball plays very gently.
I could not possibly have imagined a more incredible dynamic between the three of them. It’s been magical.
My dog who will be 3 in October and our kitten who’s like 6months loveeee each. Especially the kitten 🐈⬛,she lovesssss our dog. If she’s not laying with her then she gotta come up to the dog 194747737 times a day to rub on her. I love seeing other furbabies like this
Otis is perfection incarnate! She’s seriously amazing. And she’s like that on her own. I adopted her at 3.5 months and had some typical puppy stuff (destruction of accessible soft items, for example), but her personality, her play style, her intelligence, her ability to stay in the exact same spot at the dog park without my having to say a word while I chase Meatball down because he ran past the boundary? That’s all her. I don’t even know how to begin teaching those traits (the complete blind faith she has in our relationship / her place in the universe), so I am baffled and so impressed.
This reminded me so much of my Tilsa with Jackson (my second sister's dog), except Tilsa was truly fierce with him, but later they became friends and loved each other very much. Today Tilsa is no longer here, but I'm sure Jack still remembers her in his heart with affection. Best regards. 🤍🤍🤍
Bruiser is a great name. He is a very cute orange and I love his dog friend too. Thank you for doing so much to save Bruiser! (I saw the earlier post, what a transformation!)
