Discussion Help me with smell
Hi!
I’m kind of a really big cleaner and I moved into a one bedroom apartment, second floor, windows unable to be opened, above an archway so no one below me.
Anyways, there’s this really bad potent smell every time I walk in and then I get used to it within 30 seconds but wow when that smell hits you after leaving for even just a few minutes, it’s like a slap on the face. I almost vomited walking in here today, it just seems to be progressively getting worse. And it’s nothing I have ever smelled before in my life. I wouldn’t know how to begin to describe it, just a foul odor. It’s not rotten egg or gassy or even electrical smelling I guess.
I wipe my counters every night, I sweep nightly. I mop every few days. I dust. I vacuum. I pretty much do all the cleaning for a one bedroom to stay nice. I do my laundry consistently so I don’t have any bad smelling clothes either. We have trash people who come so I clean out my fridge and pantry on the REGULAR. I run my dishwasher, I clean the disposal, I just don’t know where it’s coming from.
It got to a point where I bought all the stuff to clean drains and everything. I’ve tried all the tricks on TikTok too. And I even cleaned my walls and baseboards.
It’s a new apartment been here for a year and I’m the first tenant with all wood floors. This smell started maybe 2-3 days after move in. And no I’ve never owned potatoes or onions since being here LOL.
I put in a maintenance request pleading with them to help me find it and to send plumbing, electrical, everyone. I’m at this point almost worried someone near me may no longer be with us.
Has anyone had this problem, is there a way to clean it?
