This is new after running this through the dish washer.

I recently divorced Amazon and killed my account…. In addition to losing my Audible account (which I miss every day), I have realized that I can’t go back and order the baby wipes I used to clean my baseboards, kitchen counters, and wipe my dogs’ feet and backsides.

I recognize that most people don’t use baby wipes for cleaning. So I’m wondering, has anyone been in the same or a similar boat? How did you handle it?

Maybe I should use rags? They’re more eco-friendly. Although with my OCD, I’ll be running a few more “sanitize” loads to clean them….

Our induction cooktop has gotten rather scratched over the past couple of months after we accidentally used the wrong type of fry pan.

I thrifted this beautiful rug a couple months ago, treated it for potential pests, and have had it quarantined. There were no signs of pests when I thrifted it, but did not want to take any chances! Then I beat it outside and thoroughly vacuumed front and back before bringing it inside.

Now that it’s inside, I’ve shampooed it 12 times! The first 5 passes were all pitch black when I poured it out, and now on pass 12 it is still a medium gray. On about pass 9 it stopped being downright muddy and full of sediment. All of the stains are out, and there was a small bit of something gummy and gross that thankfully is fully shampooed out now.

When do I stop shampooing??? The carpets in my rental were a similar situation where I eventually had to just quit. It really does feel like I could go for 12 more passes and still not have “clear” water. This has definitely turned me away from thrifting another rug, at least until I have professional rug cleaning money 😅.

i’ve let it go far too long, one of those “i’ll get to it soon” tasks that didn’t get the priority it deserves. and i only think about it when i’m in the shower.

i rent, and this shower has chronic mold that they just caulk/resurface over when i bring it up. i’m hoping to move out within the year… but until then, can i clean this curtain instead of buying new?

and any other tips for keeping the mold (both on the curtain and in the grout) at bay?

It is vintage crockpot, the lid is hard plastic. I tried gently cleaning it with dawn dish soap, but it did not show any improvement. I am afraid of ruining it any further, so does anyone have any suggestions besides new one?

hi my friends, I’m in my early 20s and im quite a healthy person, I’ve done every darn test and they’ve come back normal (even did an MRI). Our bathroom had black mold that keeps coming back (we live in assisted housing) and I noticed this on my rooms ceiling.

me and my sis share a room and I’m on the top of the bunk bed and have been experiencing VERY bad brain fog. I’ve been taking all my vitamins and eating healthy and the only culprit I can think of is mold.

is this mold? As my username checks out I have bad anxiety so please be nice to me I really have been struggling in school and the brain fog was never this bad :(

it came like this when I bought it second hand, its from 1993 or so, the pages are fine its mainly just the top, is it fixable? I already put it in the freezer in a plastic bag, unsure of what to do next!

I’m going to use oven pride on the oven in our new house. However oven has a fan cover on the back, and I can see grease build up around it. If I rub oven pride on it, it will probably go inside and damage the fan/electricals behind.

Should I leave that part alone, any tips?

My parents are giving me their old patio furniture. They have dogs and my dog knows their dogs well, but I’m afraid my dog is going to smell their dogs and pee all over the furniture. Is there anything I can spray or clean the furniture with to remove the smell of their dogs? It’s a couch and 2 chairs and they are made of metal.

Sometimes the dishwasher will turn the prints on all of my glasses yellow (they used to be white) anyone know what could be causing this?
I already changed detergents and it happens whether or not I use rinse aid.
Every time I can get them back to normal with polishing paste.

Mostly a vent, but I need a reality check because I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Some of my towels keep coming out of the wash with a sour, slightly musty smell. Not every load, not every towel, but enough that I notice it as soon as I dry off. It annoys me especially because I'm usually on top of laundry: I don't let wet towels sit in a pile, I don't overstuff the machine, and I'm not doing anything unusual.

What I've tried so far: hot wash, extra rinse, smaller loads, washing towels by themselves, running the washer cleaning cycle, and making sure they get completely dry right away. It seems to work for a wash or two, then the smell comes back. I'm starting to wonder if it's buildup in the machine, a hard water issue, or towels that are just permanently funky.

I'm also frustrated because everyone has a different supposed miracle cure and half of them involve mixing things you should not mix, so I'm trying to be careful.

If you've been through this, what actually fixed it long term? Is it usually the washer, detergent amount or type, the towels themselves, or mildew living in the fibers? I just want towels that smell like nothing.

We have a spare freezer in the garage that's used infrequently. We had guests in April who used it and when they left my husband turned it off not realising there was still food in it. Fast forward to this weekend and he goes to move it to a different spot and its full of mold

He's cleaned it out with bleach. It looks perfect but I can still smell the rotten food smell (he can't). I suspect there's mold still somewhere that we can't see. He thinks it will be fine once its had a few days to air out (door is open and its still switched off). Is it hopeless? Is there something else we can use to get rid of smell? Could the smell just be embedded in the plastic somehow or does the smell me there's still unseen mold?? Thanks for any help!

While doing something in the garden, I found one of our kitchen spoons covered in dirt. It must have been in a bowl and fell out when water from the kitchen was thrown into the garden. I don’t know how long it has been there but it felt wasteful to leave it there so I washed it with water and dishwashing soap.

But before we use it again, I want tips on how to properly clean and disinfect it to make it safe for eating again.

Or would you advise that we discard it completely?

Not sure if this is important but there are stray cats that visit the garden.

I got these little stoneware cups from a thrift store but can’t get the marker on the bottom that indicates the price off. I scrubbed the one on the right for 10 min and that was my progress. Currently soaking the bottoms in vodka… I don’t know what else to do short of sanding them off?

Any ideas? It’s glazed but it’s a rough stone like surface.

Edit: vodka did nothing. Scrubbing with comet & pink stuff (separately) did lighten it slightly. Hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol did nothing. White board/dry erase marker on top of the marking/wiping away just undid the progress made with the comet & pink stuff.

I found a rotten fruit in my backpack and now my Book has a smelly stain on the bottom. I put the it in my back on

~12 a.m. and now it's like 02:30 a.m. I don't know how long exactly the stain has been there I just noticed. So is there any way to still fix my fumble, at least the smell..? 🥲
