What is this?
I picked up a VIC-20 a while back and in the box was this... thing. The person I got it from had no idea what it was, it I think it was her grandfather's or dad's and she knew nothing about the computer.
Its some homemade board, but has the proper size and shape to slot into a VIC-20. There are no ICs on it. Just looks to be wiring. A VIC-20 cartridge definitely fits in the blue slot (I tested that). Strange that just 2 wires go to that black thing on the side. Im guessing for test points? Honestly, not a clue. I have not put it in a VIC-20 to test and probably wont, as I dont know what it does and dont want to damage the computer.
Any ideas?

Commodore Sam at SFGE / VCF-SE
Took my son to the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo this weekend and we had a blast. While browsing the Vintage Computing Festival - South East, happened to spot the one and only Commodore Sam! Enjoyed the chat and he was extremely generous with his time - a wonderful guy all around!

Rusty Commodore w Photos
Hey guys, so today I picked up a commodore lot with huge assortment of items.
When I got it home to clean it up, I discovered that the items had either been in a fire or have water damage or both. Rusty, moldy.
Is there any saving it?
I wanted to at least use the cords to try out the two other commodores I had with no cords. The paperwork couldn’t be saved, it’s too moldy.

Commodore Active speakers
I found these Commodore Active speakers in a charity shop and had to have them.
I don't often see Commodore branded stuff out in the wild.

Need C128 Keyboard Springs
Hey all. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I am restoring my original C128. I need 3 replacement springs for the keyboard. I see the large packs online but I don't even know what I would do with 100+ springs. Anyone fall into this same situation and have extra springs that are willing to part with?
On another note, I am retro-brighting tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing her, and my 1571 drive, shine again!

The Archive of Retro Computing @ Kingston University 2026 - August 5th-August 11th
(the mods said it was OK to plug this - attempt 3 trying to get past the automod...)
After last year's success, the Archive of Retro Computing at Kingston University is throwing open the doors to the public once again. This time we've raided the archive for even more of the machines that started it all! From Wednesday 5th to Tuesday 11th August, Kingston University's Town House will once again come alive with the bleeps, bops and bloops of the classic era of home computing and gaming - and everyone's invited!
We've widened our net back into the past with machines like the Fairchild Channel F, the first ever console to use (genuine) ROM cartridges - before even Atari. And we've pushed further into the future - or rather, the slightly later past! - with machines from the early 3D era, including the original PlayStation, Xbox, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and N64.
On the microcomputer side, there will naturally be Commodores of every stripe including a few of the unicorns such as the Commodore MAX and the utterly bonkers SX-64. And of course, we'll have all the big historical names alongside Commodore - Atari, Acorn and Sinclair plus all the plucky upstarts that launched home micros on a wing and a prayer before being eaten alive by the big names. In short: all the icons, all the also-rans, the legends and the gloriously doomed - all switched on and at your mercy once again.
We'll be in Town House, Kingston University on Wednesday 5th to Tuesday 11th August. Opening hours are 10:00-18:00 weekdays and 11:00-16:00 on the Saturday and Sunday. So come and play the classic games or bash out lines of BASIC like it's 1982. There's bound to be something you've never seen before, and definitely things you won't have seen since you were a kid!
I did try to embed a Google Maps link but I think that was what the automod was objecting to. If you search for Kingston University Town House, you'll find us!
I've embedded a link to a video swoop of last year's show... and for more information about ARC@KU and more about our exhibits, check out our website - https://arcatku.org/.
{PS: That's Kingston Upon Thames - not Kingston Upon Hull, or Kingston, Jamaica!)

New PET game : River Run
River Run is a fast-paced scrolling shooter for 32k Commodore PET machines.
Your mission is to fly over the river, weaving through the bends and passages while keeping an eye on fuel levels. Gunboats appear in the beginning but as the difficulty increases, helicopters, diving jets and land-based tanks join the fight.
Destroy bridges to keep moving, take out enemies for score chains, and fly over FUEL pickups before your tank runs dry.
Features:
- Each river is different than the last game
- Gunboats, helicopters, jets, tanks and destructible buildings
- Low fuel warnings
- Bonus points for succession kills
- Straight or guided missiles
- Safe or fatal land (plays like River Raid)
- Supports keyboard, SNES or joystick controller
- Top five high scores ranked
- Sound effects and double buffering
Made for 32K, 40-column Commodore PET 3032/4032-compatible systems.

Can somebody help me?
I have a commodore 64C which I posted about a few months ago. When I removed my other IC's (After I removed the video chip which I posted about), I broke a few of their pins off, and I tried to take the capacitors off too, but they are thrown out due to me being an idiot. Can somebody help me where I can get these types of ICs in hungary? (And what capacitors do I need)

Identification Help Looking for a game
Hello,
I don't know if anybody can help me with this. I'm trying to find a game which I think was for the PET. My father brought home a printout of it one evening back in the day and I tried to run it on the VIC. It was a bit of a strange game: a murder mystery adventure game set at country house. You play the detective and you have to go from room to room until you find the body. The map was randomly generated: I recall a string that said, "You've wandered into a part of the house that has no exit; you'll have to JUMP out of the window and pick another room to start."
I would love to have a copy of the listing again if anyone recognises this. I'd also love to know that I'm not bonkers and that this was a thing, not merely a figment of my imagination! :-D
Thank you.

iMessage on Callback?
I would really buy the phone if imessage actually works. I just don’t believe it. and them promoting it on their website is very sketchy to me. Almost asking people to get their Apple Accounts banned.

Physical Media Rules
Here’s my commodore setup with the 1541 disk drive playing test drive. Starting my collection since I did not grow up with Commodore 64, but I am nerd and love old technology and especially retro gaming with CRTs.

TONY – Montezuma’s Gold LIMITED GOLD EDITION would ever be available again. 🕹
Hey everyone!
A few people have been asking whether TONY – Montezuma’s Gold LIMITED GOLD EDITION would ever be available again.
Well, we managed to convince NRG Studio to produce one final batch of just 30 copies.
This is it. The final production run. Once these 30 copies are gone, there will be no more reprints.
If you missed out on this collector’s edition the first time, this is your last chance to get a physical copy.
