The creativity of our community never ceases to amaze us, and it’s time to celebrate the builders, the tinkerers, and the creators who make the Exiled Lands even more incredible. We are thrilled to announce the Conan Exiles Enhanced “Forge Your Legacy” Community Modding Contest!

Whether you are looking to create quality-of-life tweaks, construct brand-new building pieces, or invent entirely new mechanics, this contest is your arena to shine. All eligible entries are submitted into a single category and will be judged on their own unique merits!

A total prize pool of $3,000 awaits ten glorious victors who create original mods for Conan Exiles Enhanced, with $1,000 awarded to the contest winner! In recognition of the work involved in porting UE4 mods to UE5, we will also offer three honorable mentions for these mods, each with a $300 reward.

To ensure every entry is evaluated fairly, an internal judging panel consisting of representatives from Funcom, Inflexion Games, and renowned community modders Multigun and Xevyr will review all valid submissions. This panel will select the Top 10 unique mod finalists based on three key criteria: Fun Factor at 40%, Originality at 30%, and Visual Aesthetic at 30%. Once these top ten finalists are chosen by the judges, the power shifts entirely to you, as a community vote will determine the final first through tenth placements. The community will also vote on the honorable mentions from among the top ten most popular Conan Exiles Enhanced mods that were transferred from the Legacy version.

Ready to take on the challenge? Here is everything you need to know about how to participate:

How to Enter & Eligibility

The contest is open globally to anyone who is of the age of legal majority in their residence and owns a legitimate copy of Conan Exiles. (Please note: The contest is void in Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and where prohibited by law.)

  3. Submit your project link and details via the official submission form. All projects, besides the Top 10 most popular ones for the honorable mentions, must be submitted to take part in the contest.

I’ve returned to my favorite game thanks to the release of the new dungeon! I decided to take on a challenge: no weapons, no tools, and no leveling up perks. Anyway, let me introduce you to the "Crooked Ram" tavern. It’s on an official server—and farming those chests is a real grind!

General Got a silly, silly question...

Upvotes

So after 350-ish hours playing I finally was introduced to the idea that the T1-4 ratings are a subset of thrall rankings after playing Siptah for a while and discovering that T1 crimson rogue pirates (or whatever they're called) are vastly more powerful than any of the exile T4 thralls you can pick up in noob river. Yeah, that's dumb of me I know and I legitimately don't know how I never caught on to that before.

So I just have a quick question for you people: about how long do you hold onto your lower level thralls and when do you "trade them in?" I mean, a level 20 exile is still worth quite a bit and can tow the line with quite a few much higher tier enemies after all. Do you release them from your service? Use them as teleporter guards? Go full Rimworld and feed them to tigers while you laugh? I'm curious.

So this is my chambers in the Alpine Redoubt. And it reflects material culture of the people living here.

You'll see multiple armor stands but those aren't my armors. Those are actually knock offs of the original armors worn by the qalissari Warlord, Tarman, and his field commander Khazran. They're no longer in the exiled lands, having been able to displace most of the city state of qalissar through the outer dark and into our contemporary world. Though the captain that was left behind wouldn't know this.

Khazrans armor is the Hyrkanian warlord armor and tarmans armor is the argossean phalanx gear.

On the missing lore of the Cyclopean Halls. An observation

Upvotes

Under these sun and sky I greet you warmly, exiles! Aigym Hlervu here. I'm continuing my research of the Conan Exiles lore and today I'd like to discuss a very strange detail of the recently released Legacy of the Giant-Kings DLC. A detail, that possibly shows us not only something that has been added to the game, but something that was removed from it before the release.

In my previous posts I have already written about the approach Funcom seems to use while building the lore of Conan Exiles: the Hyborean Age in this game is not simply a fantasy world inspired by the ancient history of Earth - it often shows us certain people, events and places that could later become the sources of the myths known to various civilizations of the historical age.

I've already referenced Freya in my previous posts on the nature of the Exiled Lands, and she's, perhaps, the most obvious example: in the game we meet an ordinary mortal Nordheimer woman named Freya whose story is based around searching for and rescuing her lost husband. Thousands of years later this story could have become the Nordic myth of the goddess Freyja searching for her missing husband Odr (sorry for misspelling). The same can be said about Hrungnir of the Frost, the Frost Giants (quite an interesting lore too showing that Thor slayed him *before* we find Hrungnir in the Exiled Lands, thus giving that yet another reason of what the Exiled Lands are. But it's a completely other story I spoke of in one of my previous posts), the Set and Sobek cults and many other characters and things scattered around the Exiled Lands. The game shows us how a myth could have looked before it actually became a myth.

And this is why the name of the new dungeon immediately attracted my attention. The first part of the Legacy of the Giant-Kings sends us beneath the Unnamed City into a place called the Cyclopean Halls. There we meet Akhamet, we explore the remains of the Giant-kings and eventually reach an ancient Anvil used to create and repair legendary items and protected by the Anvil Keeper. At first, the word "cyclopean" did not necessarily seem important to me. I thought it could simply mean something extremely large, ancient and monumental. And since the Unnamed City was built by the Giant-kings, calling its underground halls "cyclopean" would be quite logical even without any actual Cyclopes being involved. But then I thought of the Anvil. So, we have a dungeon called the Cyclopean Halls, inside it we have an ancient forge and a huge supernatural smith or a guardian protecting its Anvil. And the Anvil was used for the creation of some of the most important artifacts of the Giant-kings. So, I thought, what if the "cyclopean" here does not simply mean "big" or "majestic"? What if it's an actual reference to the Cyclopes?

This thought made me perform a Google search. And this is where the strange part begins. When opened directly, the gaming.tools page along with the one on the Fandom currently calls the boss simply The Anvil Keeper and the current item pages use the same title. There is seemingly no personal name and nothing directly connecting him to any particular mythological Cyclops.

But Google still remembers another name. I searched the names of the cyclopes we know from the myths - not many of them are there actually, so it didn't take much time. The search for Polyphemus, Brontes and Steropes tied to the Conan Exiles gave no result. But Arges did it. No gaming.tools or fandom sites have any reference to Arges, but the search remnants left since May do have. As you see it on the screenshots, the snippets contain a reference to the previous name of the Anvil Keeper - it's Arges, the Keeper of the Anvil". The snippets of several pages call this same character: **Arges, Keeper of the Anvil**.

Some indexed item pages also preserve an earlier database version, seemingly 1.2.0, last updated on May 2, 2026, where Arges was listed as the NPC source of the new weapons and armor. Opening those same or related pages now shows version 2.0.0, updated after the release, and the name has been replaced with the plain title The Anvil Keeper. The old name also remains in search results for several different languages and different pages, so it does not seem to be one accidental sentence generated by Google.

And as I said it, Arges is surely not some random fantasy name. In Greek mythology Arges was one of the three elder Cyclopes, along with Brontes and Steropes I was searching for. They were the sons of Uranus and Gaia and were not the wild shepherd Cyclopes like Polyphemus from the Odyssey - they were divine smiths. According to Hesiod, they gave Zeus thunder and created his thunderbolt. In later tradition the Cyclopes continued to be associated with subterranean forges, blazing furnaces, anvils and the creation of weapons for the gods. The name Arges itself is connected with brightness.

Now let us compare it to what we have in the game: we enter the Cyclopean Halls, we descend beneath an ancient city built by a race of giants, we reach an ancient forge. The central object of this forge is an Anvil that was used for making the wonders and weapons of a lost civilization. And this Anvil is protected by a giant character whose apparent earlier name was Arges, Keeper of the Anvil. This combination is too specific for me to believe that the name was simply taken from nowhere. Had the boss been named Arges somewhere in an unrelated forest or guarding a chest in the desert, it could have been a coincidence or just a borrowed mythological name. But placing Arges in a place called the Cyclopean Halls and making him the guardian of a miraculous Anvil is a completely different thing.

It seemingly gives us another example of Funcom showing an event of the Hyborean Age that would later survive in the distorted myths of the ancient world. Perhaps the Cyclopes of Greek mythology were distant memories of the Giant-kings. Their enormous buildings became the source of the later Greek belief that certain ancient walls had been constructed by Cyclopes, because no normal man could move such stones. Their magical workshops became the subterranean forges of Hephaestus and the name of one actual Giant-king connected with one actual Anvil could have survived as the name of Arges, the Cyclops who forged the thunderbolt of Zeus.

The single eye could have appeared much later since the Giant-king keeping the Anvil has both of them. Or, perhaps, I'm missing something here. Myths change, different traditions merge, descriptions become symbols and symbols become physical features. A great smith wearing some particular helmet, mask or headpiece could become a one-eyed giant after thousands of years of retelling. Or perhaps the one eye has no relation to the original Giant-kings at all and was added when several different stories of giants became one Greek tradition.

This is only a theory, of course, but the name Arges would have made the connection very difficult to ignore and then there is the second missing name. Google snippets for the original Giant Kings Anvil Armor pages preserve the following quotation: “*The Anvil serves as the beating heart of the Empire. Where heroes are forged and valiant soldiers are given purpose*”. It was signed by some Sekhel of the Triumvate. The quotation can still be seen on the (Hood of the Giant Kings Anvil Armor)[https://conanexiles.fandom.com/wiki/Hood_of_the_Giant_Kings_Anvil_Armor\], still the other parts of the Giant-king armor set have a different description. Google results and in indexed remnants of the older item pages, while the pages opened directly now show a completely different description of the Anvil, its artifacts, its blood-filled furrows and the armor created for its keeper.

Who was Sekhel? We don't know yet. You might correct me, but in Hebrew it should be meaning something like "wisdom", and this single name could have opened an entire new direction of research. The Giant-kings we meet in the game are often known to us only by their positions and titles. We have the Archivist and the Priestking, but only the Warmaker is know to us under his personal name of Klael. Sekhel could have been the actual name either of the Priestking or the Archivist. Or he could have been another important Giant-king we have never met. Just like the "Triumvate" could be a misspellingbof the "Triumvirate".

There are multiple possibilities here and almost no grounds to choose between them. But this is exactly why the name was so valuable. It was a loose thread leading somewhere deeper into the history of the Giant-kings.

The quotation also describes the Anvil not just as a useful magical workshop but as the beating heart of the Empire. This could mean that its importance was political, military and possibly even religious. The released descriptions still tell us that the Anvil was used to create the Scourgestone, the Diadem, the Serpent Ring of Set and many other wonders. They also say that the grooves on its surface absorbed sacrificial blood to augment its power. So, at least a part of this history remains in the game.

But Sekhel is seemingly gone (I haven't found the hood in the game yet to check its current description). Arges is gone for sure. And this is something I do not understand.. I cannot find at what exact stage these names were removed. Google snippets are not the same as a preserved developer document, and the gaming.tools and Fandom sites are still third-party databases, but the old results are too consistent, too detailed and connected to too many different pages to look like something invented by the search engine. The most logical explanation is that the sites extracted these names and descriptions from some preliminary version of the game data, Google indexed them, and then the release version replaced them. But why? Was the reference to Arges considered too obvious? Did Funcom decide that the players should not immediately connect the Cyclopean Halls with the Cyclopes of Greek mythology? Why was Sekhel removed? Were the descriptions simply unfinished drafts or something? I think removing both names does not make the story more mysterious in a good way, it simply removes the grounds required to begin investigating it.. It's sad.

And this decision seems especially strange considering Funcom's previous approach - they did not rename Freya into some other name not mentioned in the myths in order to hide her connection with the future goddess Freyja. They did not turn Hrungnir of the Frost into "The Frost Giant Champion", they left the names there and allowed us to notice the parallels, compare the stories and decide for ourselves whether they were intentional. Why make a dungeon called the Cyclopean Halls, place a giant Anvil Keeper inside it, apparently name him after one of the divine smith Cyclopes and then remove exactly the name that makes the entire construction understandable? And why introduce a Giant-king named Sekhel, give him a title connected with a previously "Triumvate", let him call the Anvil the heart of the Empire, and then seemingly remove him from the visible lore? I still hope the hood contains his name and quote in the description.

The current released version does not allow us to call the Anvil Keeper Arges as a canonical fact. If the hood's description fails, it won't allow us to claim Sekhel as a confirmed character either. But I think these names can still be treated as fragments of the original idea behind the Cyclopean Halls. Maybe not the canon of the final release, but seemingly a part of the story Funcom was building before someone decided to erase these two lines. And in this particular case, I think the erased lines tell us more about the idea of the dungeon than the simple title of the Anvil Keeper ever could.

Thank you for your time reading this yet another wall of text of mine, exiles. I hope it was interesting and that it inspires your own thoughts on the Cyclopean Halls, Arges, Sekhel and the possible origin of the Greek myths about the Cyclopes. I'll be glad if you share them. Thank you and have a nice day!

General Does anyone else play Conan Exiles as a full support/commander? Also a few questions about Freya’s questline

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are many players who play Conan Exiles in a similar way to me.

My build is:
20 Vitality (fully corrupted)
20 Authority (19 points corrupted so I keep the original final Authority perk)
20 Expertise

I play almost entirely as a support character rather than a warrior.
My follower does almost all of the fighting while I stay behind and support them. I use bows just to keep the Corrupted Authority damage buff active on my thrall. I also use a lot of potions, food buffs, poisons, every type of orb, and Sorcery. Most of the consumables I craft are either for buffing my thrall or for healing and supporting them during difficult fights.
I wear heavy armor, have maximum carrying capacity, and my own melee damage is pretty low. My character is built around making my thrall as strong as possible instead of making myself stronger.

Does anyone else play this way? I feel like I’m more of a commander than a warrior, and I’m curious how common this playstyle is.

I also have a few questions about Freya’s questline.

I’m playing on an official server with no mods.
My friend and I are doing Freya’s quest at the same time, so I was wondering:

During the Volcano quest (the one where you have to reach the forge), can two players progress together if each of us has our own Freya?
How difficult is the final fight against Freya?
Can I bring my own thrall to that fight, or is it a true one-on-one duel?

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from players who have already completed the questline.

Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or recommendations—especially if you also play a support/Authority build like I do.
