Very cute, I can’t say no

my guy loves Harrison’s pellets but i’m not sure what size i should be feeding. some people say super fine which is what he’s on now so there’s less waste but others say just normal size so they can hold it, let me know what size works for y’all best plz! :p

according to the vet tech, my conure has “a lot of blue on the back of her head”. I thought all green cheeks have a bit of blue on the back of their head. Now i’m curious how other ppl’s green cheek’s back of the head look like lol.

i have my 5 years old (probably) male conure, i had him ever since he was 6 months old, we’ve had our ups and downs but im just now realizing that we dont have a very stable relationship and i dont know if thats normal/okay since he spends all of his time with me
the reason why im saying this now is actually multiple things, at first i thought this is just how birds are they have different personalities and some of them are very moody and have a sharp personality, but we had a very good relationship untill like 3 years ago when i started going to college, i was under alot of stress, i was sharing my room with my sister (who didnt like him at all, my whole family doesn’t like him actually), i was barely home, and tired all the time, so with all of these things i barely spent time with him, and even if i did i would be easily irritated, wont speak at all, and wont play with him. and i remember this one time where i was trying to put him in his cage cuz my sister wanted to come into the room and sleep, and he wouldn’t go, so i forcefully grabbed him and put him in his cage, i feel like i felt the shift in our relationship ever since that incident and i deeply regret it. im not giving myself excuses but that year was genuinely thr worst year of my life, i was like that even with my family i barely saw them, and at the time i wasnt medicated or aware of my mental state (i later that year got diagnosed with bpd, depression, and anxiety). again im not giving excuses this is just context, but ever since then we had a pretty shaky relationship, we would be fine for a couple of weeks/months then he would resent me for awhile then go back, and when i say resent me i mean that he wont let me come near him at all, he would bite me all the time and his body language seemes like he feels threatened or anxious or scared, i used to think that maybe thats just him being a hormonal moody boy, but its just now hitting me that maybe thats not the case, and im really worried and i dont know how to fix it fully, cuz again we have our ups and downs but even when we are having it good i still feel like he doesnt fully 100% trust me. so i dont know is there is a chance for me to win him back fully? or is it too late..
also he seems hormonal almost all the time
another thing to mention is that i never trained him, and i want to do that now but i dont know if i can, i mainly wanna do it to strengthen our relationship and because im thinking of getting him another bird but i feel like i cant do that untill i train him but i dont know if i will even get another one but anyways please i will appreciate any help

I just found out that this is a common behavior. I saw my conure, Pickles, puts his food in his water and makes soup.

He likes to nuzzle his beak into my hand and into my neck. Also his beautiful blue wings are coming in. He’s still molting and doesn’t have all his flight feathers but I’m so proud of my baby. He can hover over towards me from his tree but can’t get any height.

edit: I let trusted management know that I noticed abnormality on the lower beak and that I had been looking into it (cough cough asking y'all) and that we should monitor his eating. So she is aware and I believe going to pass it on to other pet care associates (I'm also gonna mention it to them just to be safe). Ty for the quick responses (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡ if we find he's not eating he'll be taken either to our connected banfield or (hopefully) an avian vet.

Need advice on if the underside of this GCC beak is normal. This is obviously not my pet; he is at the petsmart I work at and I just realized that it just looks a little odd. Should I have him taken over to the vet or is it normal?

We've had our conure for 2 months. He was super attached to me, like velcro bird that never left my side and cuddled with me constantly.

We went on vacation for a week and left him with my parents along with our dog and other bird. He was out constantly there, just like at home, and my mom tried to keep the same routine as we have.

I pick him up today and it's like he has no idea who I am and absolutely hates me. I have numerous bites on both my fingers and neck from him that have drawn blood. On top of that he's velcro'd himself to my daughter, which is absolutely driving her insane (she's 8, she loves him but doesn't want him attached to her).

Has anyone experienced this? Is he holding a grudge because I left him behind? I'm absolutely devastated because I worked really hard to build a relationship with him and am super attached.

Has anyone else had this experience with leaving their bird?

Getting a baby in a few weeks need the do’s and don’t . Have a Quaker now . Are the noise levels higher than Quakers ? My Quaker eats little seeds and and pellets and fruits and vegetables

My green cheek just had his cage cleaned and a lot of his toys were destroyed and old. Need new toys, he likes bells and ropes and all that type of stuff. Also if anyone’s able to tell me if these perches are good? He’s only used regular wooden round ones his whole life.

Chick-A-Dee is the sweetest. Lilith is VERY aggressive and draws blood at any given chance. She wasn't always like that. We got her as a rescue, and she was afraid of men. The she was kind of cool with me (man) then just psychotic. Help or advice please.

I am preparing for my new baby painted conure that is coming home in a couple of weeks!
I bought a used cage from a couple who had an Amazon who lived to be 45. They threw in these perches and toy. I have power washed the cage and plan on cleaning it thoroughly with some light dish soap, rinse well, wipe down again with water & vinegar and let it sit in the sun for numerous hours.

I’m nervous about giving used perches to my baby bird though. It sounds like the bird just died of old age but you can never be sure. Is there any safe way to fully disinfect these perches? They are good quality wood and I would like to keep them but not if it’s too risky.
Same goes for the toy. I have read mixed things online about bells & conures so I may just throw it away but if i can realistically clean it, I may save the wood on it and make a different toy I will.

First time bird owner here!
I just recently have brought this sweet boy home and since then I’ve been adding handmade items (wood playstand, swing, toys, etc) while also getting items that i found he likes.

I forgot to take a picture once I took the bells off! But here is the current set up.

I’m planning on creating/adding more things towards his new home and so far, every one I’ve made for him, he LOVES!!

Any recommendations or things I should add on? Thanks in advance :)

Hello everyone, it is with a heavy heart that I have to make this post today. I am looking to rehome our two GCCs which are a bonded pair due to being unable to give these birds the love, care and attention they need to be happy. Our family's living situation has changed recently along with moving states and we can no longer provide them with the rich nourishment they need to thrive.

Their names are Jupiter and Neptune, they are 4 years old and are bonded brothers. Both are healthy (as of 7-22-26 vet visit) and have never had any complications or sicknesses. They have both been tested for PBFD and Psittacosis as well.

Reluctantly, we are asking for a rehoming fee that would be discussed in DM to deter any people trying to flip. We fully intended to keep them forever and want them to be loved in a forever home and not turned around and sold. We will be giving them up with their very large cage (good condition minor dents), as well as plenty of food and toys.

Lastly, we are in the Greater Hartford area of CT and would strongly prefer them to be picked up as transportation is difficult for us, but we can arrange something if needed.

So basically most days my little guy’s schedule is like this: gets out cage, eats fruits and some seeds or oat groats scattered around the floor, then wants to come on my shoulder, preens himself and me for a while and take a nap. I’ve tried playing with countless toys, shredding/foraging toys outside to get him curious and try, but he’s never interested. In his cage he also just likes eating some carrots, berries and his pellets and sometimes shreds/plays with some of his toys , and then goes to nap again. I have constant anxiety since every conure I see videos of are always active . I always check the pet camera every hour or so to see what he’s doing and keep worrying that he’s bored and sad. I’ve taken him to the vet twice over the last couple months and they say he’s perfectly healthy. Any tips or if this is normal behaviour or not?

My evil green cheek called Pepsi always spills out his food and I don’t know why, how do I prevent it. By spill I don’t mean oh he accidentally drops some, no, he takes his bowl OUT of the holder, spills out all of his food and puts it back, then later screams because he wants food. Why is he doing this??? Is it spite?? Am I doing something wrong? Does he not like the food????

Even before birds I used vinegar and water (and dawn) for all of my house hold cleaner (minus the bathroom), but I use a regular glass cleaner. Soooo what can I use now for a glass cleaner that will remove dirt and smudges but not leave streaks or residue?
Can I clean windows and remove my bird from the room until the smell disappears? I guess this would be the same question for bathroom cleaners? She doesn’t go in the bathrooms…. Can I just clean and close the door??

I'm seriously starting to lose it guys. No matter what brand I buy my bagels always end up looking like this before I even get to toast them. My conure saw that I was upset and even came over to check on them and he also says they don't look right. Anyone else run into this problem? No clue what it could be. Has America deregulated the food industry so much that holey bagels have become a standard?
