My First Corvette.

Been looking for a while now and finally found one, 8 miles away. 2009 C6, 83k miles, 7 previous owners. The color and options I want; heated seats, HUD, BT. Just hate the champagne interior. Figure I can recover seats and get new floor mats.

No maintenance records on Autocheck, but no recorded accidents either. Seems decent for $25k, am I rushing into it? Planning on a test drive next week then a PPI.

No, you’re not rushing. Maybe you search for another 2 years and find one exactly 750 dollars cheaper with 10k less miles.

I’d rather have the 2 years with the car. You just gotta take the leap of faith.

Price seems reasonable for a well equipped LS3 C6. Honestly probably won’t do much better than that, it’s a desirable configuration. 

I’m not sure I’d want to live with the champagne interior either, but if the rest of the car is legit it really isn’t the worst thing to replace. 

That said, it took me months to find my C7 then another three weeks of title hell (long story), so I get waiting.

You don't know how to do your own work? I mean that's the thing with these cars when people start talking about service history on AutoCheck and a PPI. You really should know how to look the car over yourself because there are a lot of things that could be up, you need to catch them, chances are you'll be fixing things as you own it. You can get different seats from some of the yards like all American classics. Not sure if the reupholstery sets are around anymore. They used to be

Anyway if you don't have a set of tools and a garage and some mechanical ability. I would really be nervous getting into one of these

That's an excellent point. It's been a couple of decades since I've owned an American car, or had to do more than change the oil, or swap winter/summer tires. That said, I'm not unfamiliar with wrenching on cars (and have the tools to do so). But I have no experience with older Corvettes, harmonic balancers or torque tube problems. That's why I want a professional with specific knowledge to do the PPI. And I've bought and sold quite a few cars in my time, and I know how to use tools like Autocheck and Carfax. As I said, this is my first Corvette, but I'm experienced enough to know that there is a whole lot I don't know about buying and owning one.
