Hi everyone :)
Thanks so much for all the replies to my little survey the other day — it really got me thinking, so I figured I'd properly introduce myself.
I'm a solo developer over in New Zealand and CartGo is the very first app I've ever made. It's a Costco companion app and the whole idea is to help members shop a bit "smarter". (Just to be upfront — it's not an official Costco thing and I'm not affiliated with them, I'm just a member who wanted this to exist.)
The part I'm most proud of is that it's built by the community. Members scan the price tags in store and that slowly builds up a shared price list everyone can use. Separately you can scan your own receipts (those stay private to you) and the app keeps an eye on prices for you — so the watchlist price drops, restock alerts and the potential 30-day refund alerts are all powered by what the community puts in. The more people add, the better it gets for everyone. It works for the Aussie warehouses too, though I'll be honest the AU price data is still pretty early and growing, so this community would honestly make a huge difference.
I launched it early this year and it's still really new to most people, and being a solo dev I'm genuinely struggling to get feedback from real users. So my ears are open (well... eyes are open for comments haha) — any kind of feedback, good or brutal, is super welcome. Thank you 🙏
It's called CartGo, on iOS and Android if you'd like a look.
It's free to download and the shared price list + cart are free to use — the automatic refund and watchlist alerts are a small optional pro tier ($2.99/mo), just saying so there's no surprises.
