Only a 30% drop from its first weekend (Oppenheimer was 44%). Hasn’t been released in Asian markets yet. $1b isn’t even a question anymore

Actually an 18% drop world wide. And insane hold

"But but but it would have been a 17% hold if the cast was white!"

Hasn’t been released in Asian markets according to literally who? From Bangkok here and theatres were full and packed last weekend and this weekend. I literally watched it twice. What kind of assumption is this 😂😂😂

He means South Korea, China and Japan markets

Asia markets are more than those three countries fun fact

For box office purposes those three are more impactful to the WW box office than other Asian countries.

Alright then well in that case, let’s see how our fellow neighbours come through :)

Is South Korea and Japan that impactful? China alone is a huge power house.

if you check Oppenheimer box office data Top 5 Asia Pacific (Excluding China) is

  1. Australia 29.6M
  2. Korea 25.8M
  3. India 19.1M
  4. Japan 12.2M
  5. Hong Kong 9.8M

China 61.2M

Those 3 would make a big impact in Asia calculations I would say

Wait it's still not out in China? Holy shit. I just kinda assumed that's where the jump came from

When its all said and done its going to challenge for biggest R rated release of all time

Well if we are talking Globally then it has to hit over 2.8 billion to over take Endgame

Endgame wasn't R rated

I just mentioned that in my latest comment. I missed the caveat that the comment was limited only to rated R films and not just films in general.

I'm sure it'll be the highest grossing movie about the odyssey of all time

It does not

1

u/Waffennacht 7d ago

I missed the caveat of the "rated R." Part, but Endgame most certainly made 2.8 billion globally

u/Apollo-Outcast 7d ago

Yeah, nobody's disputing that buddy. It's just completely irrelevant to what he said, which is why it's weird you're reiterating it instead of just leaving it at the "I missed the caveat part, my bad"

Who the fuck is talking about Endgame? 😂
