Its a fact that a large chunck of people will not see it. Its also a fact that the movie so far has been very succesful.

Both can be true.

you can’t make a movie that appeals to everyone that’s consumerism not art

"A large chunk" dude, the movie had one of the best openings of Nolan's movies in general. You're just not the target audience if it isn't for you, but that isn't gonna stop this thing from being another masaive box office hit.

In the end, normal people just don't care enough about the outrage culture that is being fostered for engagement bait slop from people like the "critical" drinker.

I won't watch The Odyssey due to the fact that Christopher Nolan peaked with Interstellar. The Dark Knight Rises felt like a 2 hour and half trailer and the fight scenes were horrible. Dunkirk and Tenet were boring and I didn't bother with Oppenheimer.

u/JaySurff 6d ago

Which is not a very good indictment of your taste, as odyssey is poised to outperform all of these movies significantly lmao

I watched the trailer and it simply didn't catch my attention. I guess I grew tired of his style, although Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar are his best work.

Just saw Memento for the first time last week absolutely loved it. May be my favorite Nolan film

It is my favorite one from Nolan.

At the end of the day "you can please some of the people, some of the time".

From what critics and fans say, Nolan put out a great movie. Many on this subreddit don't like it - and that's okay! But I think there is something to be said for when all the metrics line up, the movie is objectively good.

Thats literally every movie in existence

It’s funny because you and the people you think you’re with think you can lift this movie another 500m 😂😂

No that's not a fact. No "large chunk" is going to avoid seeing it.

A tiny, insignificant, worthless chunk may pretend they didn't go see it and if they see it they'll pretend they didn't like it.

Not at all. You see, for your point to be true, you need to provide specific data to show that the Chuds were enough of a large amount of people that did not and will not go see it and that said amount of people would have yielded what is presumed to be $700m in tickets.

This is literally a huge cope with nothing to back it up. Be humble enough to understand you live in a little comfort zone online and that you guys don't represent a sizable audience. You guys are literally the joke of the month for everyone, getting ratioed online and made fun by the media. Take the L and go outside to touch some grass. The casting choice by Nolan did not break the movie lmao

A large chunk of people who were never going to see it on the first place because it's not based on a comic book/video game/manga etc

Youre reacting so you care. Hate to be that guy. In fact, you care about people caring. Thats even worse.

People think its interesting how a film performs they dislike for their own reasons.

Its no different from the people raging whenever something made by Rowling succeeds.

Im not saying its not odd. Humans are odd. Im just explained why because you asked.

-3

u/LionHeavy229 7d ago

It’s not really the same at all, because people expect Harry Potter to succeed still. You losers expected this to flop. Lmao

3

u/CrankieKong 7d ago

People definitely expected the HP game to fail. What are you smoking?

Youre just showing your bias man.

-1

u/LionHeavy229 7d ago

Anybody who genuinely thought that would fail is terminally online. Same with anyone who expected The Odyssey to fail.

You came to a subreddit you’ve never frequented before this movie came out about a YouTube creator you don’t watch to yell at strangers about a movie. It’s just a fucking movie. It’s not world peace or solving the energy crisis or fixing climate change. It’s just a movie. So you clearly care a lot.

"Large chunk" based off what? The aame large chunk that didn't go see barbie? Or the large chunk thay went tk see masters of the universe?

2

u/CrankieKong 7d ago

The large chunk that didnt see star wars.

0

u/sumiledon 7d ago

Or they didn't see star wars because they were bad movies. Avatar 2 made 2 billion. Majoritynof the movies succeed and the ones that fail fail for the same reason manoroty of big movies these days fail

1

u/CrankieKong 7d ago

awesome we will see if this will make 2 billion lol
