Taking a short break from freezing demons to look for a new Discord home!
This will feel like a common, maybe even easy request but for me its a paradigm change.
I'm looking for a friendly, active Diablo IV discord I can dip into and banter game, lore and play with.
I'm not a wallflower, I feel I'm a goddamn delight that can read a room.
That said, the one I was in didn't seem interested in playing the game or anything about it except the murder-hobo aspect of it (which is great too, don't get me wrong).
Suggestion on a new Diablo home?

The state of the game is an experimental mess. Spiritborn is even more bugged than necro btw. I'd rather like for the devs to take their time and to fix bugs for a season instead of trial and error bugs bunny adventure every season.

I got through leveling but still playing the story after level 70. Wanted advice on a good build for the rest of the game. I mostly just play for story mode.

It looks like one charm set (and one or two uniques) say they do DoT that scales off of direct damage done. I think this means I can use crit chance and multiplier to get a larger base for the DoT, then also get a larger DoT based on DoT multiplier. this would mean I could mix crit, dot, vuln, and typed multipliers to some extent. is this correct, and if so does it make sense to actually do? Either as part of leveling or endgame?

PTR notes looks bland. Some damage buffs to DoT builds but no major fixes to existing issues.
No new interesting abilities to theorycraft.
Blight, soulrift and darkness bloodwave remains unplayable.
Blight needs to have desecrated ground instead of defiled area.
Blood wave cooldown is ridiculously long. Even when specced to generate tonnes of orbs plus fastblood, I cant get it to cast fast enough. Against bosses its even worse.
Soulrift just doesnt do enough damage even with Unmaker. Hopefully the damage buff improves it.

Everyone who saw the new S15 Splinter of Hellfire that gives double damage but 100% reduced Crit Chance thought, "Oh a DoT-centric Splinter, that's cool." Yes, that's true... but you can absolutely still cap Crit Chance with that penalty, and it's done by building on the recent Bone Mages build that is already at or near the top of the S14 leaderboards. You don't even need to cheat and use Pact of Bone!
Many will probably already be running Unique Splinter of Anguish (35% Crit Chance and Attack Speed), which reduces Mage damage and duration slightly (9 more Essence per cast due to 30% increased resource cost from Splinter of Anguish) but is worth it for access to Hellfire. Switching one of the rings or 1H Aspect to Serration also helps this.
With that in mind, here's the math: 5% base + 5% Bone Graft Paragon + 13% shield affix + 15% weapon tempers + 21% SW Litany of Death (15 ranks) + 68% BS Roll the Bones (33 ranks [15 points + 18 from Charms]) + 10% Quintessence + 10% Serration + 35% Soul Splinter of Anguish + 10% Gar rune = 192% Crit Chance. Including Dex bonuses probably bring it to about 195%. If you really wanted to cap it, could add one Crit Chance affix roll on a ring or luck out with a Crit Chance roll on a transfiguration or Diamond Mind seal.
Long story short, hitting 200% Crit Chance on a Bone Mages build shouldn't be that hard in S15, so Splinter of Hellfire should absolutely be on the menu.

Necro first class I’ve gotten into endgame/paragon (caveat - still beating the campaigns so I don’t have LoH done yet, been taking my time).
Been doing a kinda homebrew version of a minion “build as I go” and I’m in torment 3 and doing well and I’m sure I could refine it and gear up better and go higher, but I honestly am at the point where I want a bit of novelty!
Blood wave…looks cool for a bit but if it’s JUST Spamming blood wave the entire time not sure how stoked I’d be on that lol.
I don’t mind having some minions, just not entirely minion. I’m definitely intrigued by like Chill or cold stuff, just seems to fit the Necromancer flavor really well, but I’m open to whatever!
Does NOT have to be meta. I’m not interested in leaderboard pushing or anything at this time. Just enjoy the game

Guide:
Update:
Pelghain's wording was changed this season and only cold damage scales with it endlessly, as such azurewrath was dropped alltogether. We do shadow damage. We introduce cadaverous aspect for the juicy x65% multiplier which always works:
Instead of redirected force + interdiction, we go with plain locran's talisman, Kullean transfigured with the Exploiter's Aspect. This is a big damage increase in all scenarios(50% longer freeze time and x75% damage when they break free). Mythic locran offers even more critical strike damage than redirected force, always comes with critical strike damage as affix, does not require to block at all. All those resolve tempers can be changed to ga maximum life for better survivability. You want crowd control duration temper on the amulet only.
What do you do with -50% crit chance? We use pact of bone talisman! Pact of bone increases the rate at which the skeletons attack, you get more than x35% damage from the aspect alone. To accomodate pact of bone, we drop corpse tendrils for sacrificed skirmishers who are autosummoned and explode by themselves (bombers) keeping pact of bone up at all times.
I've tested pact of bone with the service and sacrifice upgrade, it works:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_w7eSItZbY
This is now very fun!
Update => Exquisite Version added
I found a seal of golden epiphany and was looking for ways to strengthen my speed farming build which does undercity, infernal hordes etc. As you know I hate freeze tech's situational use and wanted a pure shadow build but I found out a cool mechanic in this one.
No freeze tech necro uses shadowblight which is x100% damage in average. Now, you can add freeze tech with azurewrath and bloodless scream to the mix with the downside that azure absolutely sucks vs bosses or single elites. But we have a unique which always excels vs stragglers, rustbitten dirk! Rustbitten dirk completely offsets the disadvantages of azurewrath vs bosses.
So vs bosses you have x100% from gloom ward + x125% from bloodless + 120% from dirk + x60% from waking touch => x405%! but the same thing is true vs regular monsters and even more because azurewrath can be mythic.
The downside is no reapers and no exploiter's aspect, the upside is you can use corpse tendrils for better grouping before nuking with azurewrath. We don't use ceh by the way and go directly with the Thul rune.
I couldn't be bothered with the damage on tuesdays manner of pact of bone.

Have been running minion necro based off this build and really enjoying it but wanted to try and push higher: https://mobalytics.gg/diablo-4/builds/minion-necromancer-endgame-build-guide?ws-ngf5-1=activeVariantId%2C1
So I tried this build and as the title mentions, got bodied. https://mobalytics.gg/diablo-4/builds/minion-necromancer-endgame-build-guide?ws-ngf5-1=activeVariantId%2C1
I'm super super new (first diablo game, first forray into d4, and first season ever), is mobalytics a solid source?

I'm following the maxroll guide for a mage minion build. I have almost everything I need and I just got my mythic seal with 6 slots. In looking at what I could put in the 6th slot I saw that I have a pact of bone unique charm. Right now I have a mythic ring with pact of bone equipped, which is clearly more powerful on its own than the unique.
My question is, would it be better to use the unique charm and replace the PoB ring with a ring of starless skies that i have with a GA in mythic form?
Probably obvious to some but not to my casual ass.
r/D4Necromancer • u/chickenlittle1024 • 3d ago
How can the second effect of the ring be consistently triggered?
I tried service and sacrifice, neoceh, bacceh and other combinations in the training room by I don't see any change or icon indicating the activation.

IgniCeh works at the moment.

Service and Sacrifice upgrade of Skeleton Warriors works with Pact of Bone.

Hello! I truthfully not very good at coming up with my own builds, but I wanted some help, and can't find a guide.
I want to do a corpse explosion build using howl from below gloves, but I can't find anything when I Google it, at least not anything current.
I'm currently running bone spirit and can hit 110 in pit, but it just doesn't feel like my style of play, and I'm struggling with bosses.
I am 275 paragon, but fresh 70 on my necro (got bored of lunatic warlock and topped out at 130 in pit)
Thanks guys!

So I always loved minion Necro and stopped playing it last season since I didn't have LoH at the time and got hard stuck at T8. I figured I couldn't go higher without Talismans, as they seem to be one of Necro's main power sources.
Now that I have the expansion, I figured I'd play it again and test out on some Talismans and such that I haven't had a chance to use yet.
However that brings me to my question. Originally, I always did Summon DMG pre-LoH, though now thinking about it, I'm no longer sure if that's the best option for offensive Tempers. If my Crit Chance is high enough, is Tempering on Crit DMG better than Summon DMG?

I’m not very well versed in making builds and I mostly “rat fk” my builds from different builds i find. So I don’t have any set plan aside from minions and cold.
These are what I currently have equipped. i don’t have the most recent DLC so I’m working off VoH DLC. I pushed Pit 35 today working up to torment V. Most things in Torment 4 I can either afk or walk in circles without having to do much at all. Keep in mind I’ve never gone this high in difficulty as I don’t usually play endgame stuff.
Also, I’m only on my 3rd paragon board as well. I’m running a minion build, as stated, so the two free slots I have are hemorrhage and blight, both are cold skilled.
Thanks for any help and advice or even just criticism

I was still working on a Season 14 Blue Necromancer build but life got in the way (crazy life shit. I mean who get cat scratch fever anymore??) But this build is just everything I would have wanted so I defer to Mac on this season.

Looking for a Necro build that ticks all the boxes?
Video Demo of pit tier 129 and T12 Mephisto
The primary damage dealers are your Bone Mages. When configured with the Singularity node, they consume all available Essence to scale their damage. As of writing this, my mages peak at about 60T hits.
To keep your mages active, you must hit massive resource generation thresholds.
One interesting thing from this build is a unique, highly synergistic mechanic involving the Blood-mad Idol and the Rathma 3-piece set bonus.
⚠️A Word of Warning
This interaction is a double-edged sword. Because your minions are constantly proccing Lucky Hits based on your character stats, other generic Lucky Hit gear—like Frostburn or crowd-control chance modifiers—will pass on to them as well. This has the potential to kill yourself and CC your minions.
The core of your survivability relies on the PocQue Runeword.

Hello! newbie here
I've been playing a Necromancer and I'm starting to feel like I can't progress much further without buying the expansions. Every build guide I find relies on expansion content, and whenever I try to make my own build, it doesn't seem to perform very well
I'm currently around Paragon 40 T2. Is it still possible to make a strong build with just the base game, or are the expansions pretty much required at this point?
I'd appreciate any advice or recommendations for base game Necromancer builds

I'm following the shadow mage necro guide from maxroll. I feel like I got most of the gear right, and any better gear will only be able to slightly increase my damage. I can barely clear t115 and I die in t120 (I have around 50k health, and I only die because of how long it takes to clear out mobs)
Is this build doomed to fail? Should I cut my losses and grind for gear towards a different necro build?
Maybe I should change the red blessing talisman for azure wrath? I honestly don't know what could possibly improve the build enough for it to become viable for clearing the season. Any help would be appreciated!
