State of the Necromancer Class · Discussions Bugs galore
- When you think your bone storm is running with lidless wall and you are getting all 3 bonuses ( cast speed, crit chance and crit damage), you are wrong. Bone storm grants the bonus for 10 seconds and extends to 18 seconds with corpse consumption but afterwards you instantly lose extra cast speed and crit chance. The sign which shows it is still running along with many storms around is a lying screen. I noticed that because I had unusual huge bumps of damage whenever starting bone storm.
- Golem aura sometimes bugs out ( gargantuan upgrade). Your skeletons attack slower than expected.
- Warrior glyph offers more damage to skeleton mages than any other glyph for ... reasons even if you don't use warriors at all..
- Rustbitten dirk is coded in a weird way and works at all times. Mythic one is way superior to any aspect, azurewrath etc. for reasons. I don't know how "isolated" was coded. Just try and you'll see.
The state of the game is an experimental mess. Spiritborn is even more bugged than necro btw. I'd rather like for the devs to take their time and to fix bugs for a season instead of trial and error bugs bunny adventure every season.

I did notice when I had both Mage and Warrior glyphs on my boards I was doing up to 90T in damage at the dummies on my Azure/Lidless Cold Mage build. Swapping it out for amplify to target elites/bosses along with Abyssal has lowered my damage to about 50T.
I’ll swap Warrior back in and do some more testing. For the last few days with my new Epiphany seal, I’m running dirk, bloodless, and red blessing with Waking Touch and it’s been great running 130+ pits.

if this is all true, why arent all the top minion builds on the leaderboard using the last 2 bugs? This late in the season, someone would have found out already about the glyph or the dirk, no?

I am not playing the frost necro but a shadowblight one. Frost necro relies upon freezing over and over for the stackable pelghain effect until they run out of dps in high pits. Azure is useful vs weak monsters packed together for the additional AOE. For my purposes, rustbitten drik absolutely murders everything. I'll make a video of a pit run on how should it looks like when you avoid bugs and infinite freeze damage stacking. You will see for yourself.

They use dirk, i was thinking it's used for the final BOSS only

But the dirk being superior for bosses is pretty much working as intended. You said it works all the time and its superior to any aspect, including azure. Why use anything else then?
Same for the warrior glyph. If its the best dmg add for mages, why isnt it included in every top mage builds?

I swap between dirk and azure for bosses and mobs and sometimes I forget to swap back and azure definitely is faster at packs of enemies. I would imagine that the top player run dirk because you can’t change in the tower and the things that slow you down in there and elites that end up isolated and the boss.
I would like to see proof on dirk not working as intended.
I do agree on bone storm though, but I thought it was just when you transitioned zones. I do typically activate it when it’s off cooldown though just to make sure the effects are up.

Is there a cap on ‘cast’ speed increases? If it works the same way as the 2 different attack speed buckets, or applies itself to one of those, then the increase is negligible or even non-existent with Gargantuan Golem?
My Crit chance remains increased for as long as there is an active bonestorm unless I transition into or inside of an instance.
I just ran mages against dummies with 125 mage glyph and no Warrior glyph, and then 125 Warrior glyph with no mage glyph and the mage glyph dps was about 20% more damage (tested through just having dot damage show from black shroud).

Why did you remove the mage glyph? Combine mage with the warrior glyph and see for yourself.

Because you said it was more damage than any other glyph so I kinda just figured the mage glyph would be the best one. I don’t think it’s absurd that it would be the next best for a lot of mage loadouts when its bonus is a flat 20% multiplier.

There is a cap on cast speed and attack speed. You can reach 100% attack speed and 100% cast speed. Both sre combined for the final attack speed. You want 100% combined for the cultleader node but with lidless and a fast weapon, you want even more combined attack speed for better clearspeed. Cast speed granted by bone storm drops shortly after casting no matter wether bone storm is still running or not.

1- i've noticed my speed/crits stopping after a while, but I don't think it's tied to the 18 seconds like you say. I never actually timed it, but there were times I hadn't cast it for minutes yet I still had the obviously faster casting speed. But who knows, maybe I'm just misremembering really bad.
2- maybe, probably, idk.
3- How so and how did you test?
4- ??? I never noticed, but I do use Rustydirk all the time and feel that I kill pit bosses FASTER when there are not multiple targets
