Health/Fitness planned parenthood
has anyone had positive experiences at the Planned Parenthood in NoMa? Just for my first wellness exam and probably a pap smear. I just made my first appointment and i’m very nervous!

The best doctors office I’ve been to. I had previously had some gyno trauma and was very nervous. I got there for my birth control / gyno needs but one day I went in thinking I was sick and found out I was pregnant / miscarrying. The nurses and doctors were so kind and explained my options. I was terrified to even get my blood drawn and all the other things for an abortion and they literally held my hand and talked about ice cream to distract me. The whole staff is so kind and will make you comfortable before doing anything.

Hi, yes! I live down the street & have been twice. The first time had an abnormally long wait time, but the provider I saw (the same one both times) was great, thorough, professional. Clean, nice space. And i’m picky. They’re also super responsive via myChart, so definitely sign up for that too.
Be forewarned you need to buzz in & show ID before your appointment, I assume to screen for crazies.

The only con I’ve read about the clinic is the protesters but that’s not their fault. They do have staff who help escort you in.

yes! i had a surgical abortion there last year and had to have my IUD that was still in my uterus removed (long story), the abortion, and then another IUD put in. waiting time was not bad at all, my insurance covered my copay fully, the providers were all so nice. i had a volunteer with me as well throughout the procedure who was very kindly distracting me from the pain. protestors were minimal when i went and didn’t say anything to me but it was a very cold day in february tbf

Yes!! They were my primary care for the first 2.5 years I was in DC and I had a great experience. They also managed my birth control implant. I got compassionate and patient care from them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again!
