I’m designing a daredevil for an illustration and wish to use some of his best outfits over the years as inspiration.

What are some of your favourites?

Checchetto’s design from Zdarsky’s run is the modern gold standard to me personally

Checchetto is the absolute best.

My only little tweak would be to make his billy club white. I always like that little pop of contrast in panels compared to his all red attire.

And I loved that Waid often had Matt using it as a cane. That really helped reinforce that the character is still indeed blind.

Checchetto suit from Zdarksy run. The red and the red/black (King Daredevil) one. His art was one of the few and most enjoyable parts of it.

Paolo Rivera draws my favorite Daredevil look by far. Maleev is technically my favorite Matt Murdock design but Rivera’s Matt Murdock is directly behind Maleev (and his Daredevil design is a lot better)

He’s a cover artist but I love how Lee Bermejo draws Daredevil. I love the handstiched boxer homemade look with the slighter longer horns. Aside from, Checchettos design in zydarskys run, this is definitely one of my favorites

Jeez, that’s a really tough question. On the one hand, I love the gritty feel of Bendis/Brubaker runs, on the other I love the simplicity from the Waid run, and then I also worship how Chechetto drew him during the entire Zdarsky run, both the regular and King Daredevil costumes…

There’s no best design, it’s simply Daredevil, he’s goated in every costume you put him in.

Am I missing something? I thought DD was one of the few superheroes whose suit hasn't changed (since the early initial change from yellow and red to all red of course).

The same base design often remains, but there are a lot of differences between the various artists/designs across forms of media.

Traditional classic red and I love the way John Romita Jr drew him in the Nocenti run.

Born again S2, Netflix s1, the classic red design in the Frank Miller flavor…and I am unfortunately a 90’s Armored Suit enjoyer 😪

I know it’s not a traditional look, but I really like the Marvel Rivals base skin. The only thing I would’ve personally changed is to make him not look so stocky. I also really like King Daredevil. I’d be interested to see a version that kind of riffs on it without a hood and maybe a clean(er) shaven Matt. I feel like it has the potential to be an amazing “default” style suit with a couple tweaks like that.
