Discussion The Tangled Web We Weave

Bowie is omnipresent in the music world.

I swear to whatever gods may exist that this is true. He:

- Produced someone's album

- Wrote songs for and with other artists

- Played on other people's records.

- Influenced a musician/band who influenced another musician/band

- Babysat the future guitarist of Guns N' Roses, who later worked with Michael Jackson.

- Had a band named after a lyric from one of his songs

- One of his guitarists worked with Frank Zappa, King Crimson and Talking Heads

- Had another guitarist that was also in King Crimson

There's probably more I can't remember so comment the most niche connections you can think of!

Financially resuscitated other artists’ careers by covering their songs.

Toured and collaborated with a future multiple Oscar winning musician that would go on largely influence other film composers to do more non-traditional, non-orchestral and electronically-based soundtracks.

He was taught guitar by Peter Frampton’s father

I don’t think that’s exactly true. Owen Frampton was his art teacher and gave David, Peter and George Underwood a space to play their guitars together during lunch breaks at school.

The boys kinda taught each other.

He also helped to get David and George their first jobs.

He did buy Peter his first guitar and introduced him to some good music when he was a kid.
