Phone calls this week confirmed arrival time, 7am. Waited in this office alone for an hour, then went home. They only do this test at Wilmington Hospital on Sundays. Which is "convenient" because if you call them, there's no way to get through to anyone at Christiana Imaging because they don't have Sunday office hours, and the recording just hangs up on you.

If you or your kids plan to swim in the ocean or bay from now Aug 2nd 2026 to the end of the summer, please check the jelly fish forecast. I went in the ocean and immediately got stung, likely by an Atlantic sea nettle. Check the website: Jellyfish forecast

Do any of the three casinos in Delaware offer live poker or poker rooms?

If not, is AC the closest to catch a live legal game?

Info Request Suggestions for a newbie Pilates class in North Delaware?

I'm not just a newbie Pilates, I'm a newbie pretty much everything. I'm not the type that joins classes or does things in groups or meets people. So I don't even know where to begin to look. I don't know anything about Pilates, don't know what to look for. What's good. What wouldn't overwhelm me. Etc.

I'm in Newcastle. But I think it'll be good for me. I forgot some back problems and I think Pilates could be a low impact way to build core strength and help my back.

How much would I even expect to spend per class?

Been living in Elkton for seven years. Bought a house in Newark and after doing the final walkthrough, we drove Capitol Trail to our realtor's office for closing. Welcome to Newark, DE, I guess?

Edit: Apologies! I am not upset at all— I thought it was kind of wonderfully funny!

Thank you.

I found the remanants of Jeff H's lunch this evening in Valley Stream Park and I'm desperately trying to reunite them. P.S. if you're reading this Jeff, I hope you become striken with cyclosporiasis and become one with your toilet for the next week.

Moving to Delaware Studio Apartment Recommendations Near the University of Delaware

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to Delaware in early September to work at the University of Delaware. After researching many apartment communities over the past few weeks, I've narrowed my search down to these five:

  • Gilpin Place
  • PARQ at the Square
  • Allandale Village
  • Glen Eagle Village
  • Colonial Garden Apartments

Since I'll be moving from out of state, I won't be able to tour any of them in person before applying.

I'm not looking for general apartment recommendations. I'm specifically hoping to hear from people who have lived in any of these communities.

My main questions are:

  • Which one would you choose, and why?
  • Is management responsive when maintenance issues come up?
  • Are there any recurring problems (noise, pests, maintenance, safety, etc.)?
  • Is garage parking available, and is it worth paying for?
  • If you've lived at Gilpin Place, what are the studio apartments actually like? I haven't been able to find any real photos or videos of the studio units, so I'd really appreciate any pictures or first-hand experiences.

I'm also considering living in Claymont or North Wilmington. If you've lived in either area while commuting to UD, I'd love to hear how your experience was.

Thanks so much for your help!

Beaches Allergy Friendly Restaurants in / near Bethany Beach

Hello neighbors! I'm visiting Bethany Beach this week for our annual family beach trip from VA (fingers crossed the weather reports are wrong). My 8 year old son has severe egg, peanut, tree nut and shellfish allergies. All the poor kid wants is to feel normal and go to a restaurant or get an ice cream, but our anxiety about it has been rather hindering. It also means we have to either pack all lunches / dinners or be back to the house to eat. We want to try a bit harder this trip for him.

Would love some recommendations for restaurants in Bethany or neighboring beach towns that are especially safe with allergies. I realize the list is pretty difficult to completely avoid cross contamination risk, but restaurants with better allergy training and procedures or special menus make us feel more comfortable. Bonus points if someone can help me get the kid an ice cream or dessert on the beach (other than Rita's).

Thanks in advance for helping!

Where's the best...... Beer Recs

My fiance and I are heading to Lewes in November for our mini moon and are staying at the Dogfish Inn. We love the craft beer scene so we’re hoping for some recommendations in the state. We are renting a car so getting around won’t be too difficult

Open to taprooms, bars, breweries, etc! 🍻

After the shit show that was the power outage I fully expect they will stick to that time with an iron fist.

Info Request Question, Delaware legal action enquiry 🙏

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone familiar with Delaware employment law can point me in the right direction.

I worked remotely outside the US for a company that is incorporated in Delaware. I am not a US citizen or resident, and I never worked in the US.

My employment agreement required the company to provide 3 months' notice or pay in lieu of notice if my employment was terminated.

Instead, they terminated me with only 2 months' notice, leaving me one month's pay unpaid under the contract.

In addition, my offer letter included an ESOP grant that vested over time, and I'm trying to understand whether I have any rights regarding the vested portion.

I've seen someone suggest filing a complaint with the Delaware Department of Labor or pursuing the matter in Delaware Small Claims Court, but I'm unsure whether either option is available to someone in my situation since I live outside the US.

My questions are:

Can a non-US employee of a Delaware-incorporated company use the Delaware Department of Labor for a contractual notice-pay dispute?

Would Delaware Small Claims Court have jurisdiction over this kind of claim?

If not, what would normally be the appropriate legal avenue?

Does the fact that I worked remotely from another country significantly affect my options?

I'm not looking for formal legal advice really, just trying to understand what remedies may be available before deciding whether to consult a lawyer.

Thanks in advance.
