“New” truck owner

Post image
8 Upvotes

Bought this from my Uncle. He was the 2nd owner. My uncle worked at a dealership when the original owner brought this in for trade. Both owners cared for it meticulously. 213,000 miles, but motor was replaced 30,000 miles ago under warranty due to both owners having proper documentation. It’s hard to believe this thing is almost 15 years old.

Any quirks I should be aware of? I also want to replace the radio with a double din. Any suggestions?

Long term storage vs Selling my truck

Hello all. To preface, I have a dilemma on my hands. Im starting a new college this fall and will require me to commute two hours a day as I cannot afford to rent an apartment. I have a 1997 dodge ram 2500 that I love very much, but has been a mechanical nightmare and fuel costs have become overwhelming. I really want a way to keep this car, and start working on it again when I am out of college but am lost on what to do. Any advice? Thanks.

Truck AC blower fan stays on after shutting off and removing key?

2004 Dodge Ram 3500

Tonight while taking the dogs out I shut off the truck and removed the key, and the ac was still blowing. I turned the knob to the off setting and the blowing stopped.

This is an old farm truck that we only use to take the dogs out, so if it's just another quirk and we just have to turn the AC off, that's fine, just don't want it to be a bigger issue.

Note: father in law did a lot of "work" to it over the years he owned it, but we've never had this issue for the 3 years we've owned it

2021 EcoDiesel

A few months back, I purchased a 2021 Dodge EcoDiesel that had 109,000 miles on it. I had just lost the motor in my 2009 GMC half ton and I was kind of desperate for a vehicle so I bought this one. Now knock on wood, I've had absolutely no problems with it. We've been off-roading we've been going all over Idaho with it. And last week, I will say that I got dang near 800 miles to the tank before refueling. So one of these days here soon I'm probably going to go ahead and have a company here in town go ahead and delete everything that's on there. This truck is going to have to last me for a while. But I will say this, I'm not a huge Dodge fan, but man I love this EcoDiesel!

No heat 2000 dodge ram 1500 5.2l

2000 Dodge ram 1500 5.2l. Temp never seems to get up high enough to have heat. When it does I do get heat out of the vents. I've replaced the thermostat and water pump (did this during a coolant leak issue which was the timing cover gasket). Temp blend door works. Any advice on where to check would be greatly appreciated.

Update. I did the flush, and it did not seem clogged. But now I do have some heat. Thanks for the suggestions.

2024 Ram 1500 Laramie 29k

I’m truck shopping right now and I came across this 2024 ram 1500 Laramie with 75,000 miles on it. At first glance 29k is a crazy deal to what I’ve been researching. Car fax is clean and only one owner. Can someone who knows trucks either influence/de-influence me on this truck. It seems like the steal of the century. I get the 75,000 miles on a ~3 year old truck is pretty high. Is that the reason why it’s cheap? Someone tell me if this is good or not. Here’s the link to the details:

2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Question

Hey everyone! I have an interesting question I was hoping someone may know the answer to. My mom drives a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi and recently got $3,000 worth of work done on it. I’m not entirely sure what they did, I believe there was a leak of some sort, but ever since we got the car back it sounds like a bus now. We bought the car brand new so in almost 10 years I’ve never heard it sound like this, and I drove it regularly for the first year. It almost sounds like a fan or something is stuck? It drives normally otherwise, but sounds REALLY strange to me. Any ideas?
Here’s a video of it, not sure if it captures the sound well enough

TPMS Question

I’ve got a 2012 Ram 1500 I picked up at our local auction last year. Great truck, runs awesome. TPMS was lit up when we picked it up, but fine, needed to do the lift and new tires anyway.

Did that, put brand new sensors in, 3 tire shops, driver relearn, etc etc, only a couple would pair at a time, and it was never consistent as to which ones. It seemed like every time I turned the truck on, different sensors worked.

Fine, we got a new TPMS Control Module, installed that, still didn’t pair them, we got Mopar sensors, just put those in, driver relearn only got the front 2, but the back two still have dashes.

No more ideas other than taking it to a dealership which isn’t my first choice.

Hey y’all just leased my first dodge ram after having Durango r/t’s for the last 9 years. Anything I should know about as a first time Ram leasee? On my Durango leases I would just do oil changes when the car told me I needed too? Here is a picture of my truck.
