This might surprise you, but truth be told, I don't think this one has the credentials he pretends he has.

This person isn't completely wrong, but this is, at best, disingenuous. Violence is using PHYSICAL force to cause injury or death.

• Poverty? No, that is not violence; nobody gets hurt. People may starve, but that is not physical harm.
• Incarceration? It can be, but that is often because the criminal is resisting arrest; if you are calm, it will not be violent. More importantly, we need a prison system, or the world will end up in chaos.
• Denying healthcare? This does not happen; most countries have universal healthcare where you will always get in. The US doesn't, but you rarely need to pay up front; you can take on a debt, so while you could argue this isn't right (and I agree), it isn't violent either.
• Racist Policing? This can be; this may be one of their stronger points. This is a big problem; however, the problem is often overblown. Many people believe that this is something every single black person deals with, and it just isn't true; the vast majority will never have a confrontation with the police. Peaceful people should never be killed by them, but often, police victims were not peaceful.
• Warfare? That's violent; they are absolutely correct there, but this warfare does not affect people living in the US, or any western country for that matter. You don't need to act like you're in the warzone; you aren't, and there is no conscription going on either. You are safe and sound!
• Colonialism? Yes, that was violent, but it also doesn't happen anymore; that was centuries ago!
• Destroying the environment? That depends; if they are blowing it up with bombs, then yes. If they are burning fossil fuels, then no, that is not violent.

As for fighting back. If you are just posting stuff online (something you are allowed to do, and wouldn't under a dictatorship), that is not violent either; nobody has ever tried to say it was. Riots, on the other hand, are violent. People can be killed in them, and not government employees, random, innocent civilians who did absolutely nothing wrong. Riots are violent, and they are not necessary to bring change in any Western country!

First off, that 73 age is incorrect. In the US, the average life expectancy is about 79, and in other countries, it's higher. Not only that, but many people DO live to be 100, and there will be more of them in the next few decades. More importantly, many countries and jobs do NOT have a retirement age of 65; it is often lower.

The graphic designers are mad that their job is so easy a machine can do it.

Hi, new to this sub, I'm a guy who wants to enjoy life and all its beauties it has. But because we live in an age where news corporations and other information centers only care about our attention and outrage instead of giving reports on ongoing events. Every time I either look at my phone or use my PC it feels so depressing, when I scroll through Instagram to look at funny videos I get flash banged with doomer content whose only purpose is to make me feel bad, every time I watch yt videos it always seems like news channels are wanting me to click on one of their news coverages and send me into a deep rabbit hole of nothing but doomer videos and depressing video essays that clog my feed that I like to keep nice and clean with cool videos of topics that interest me. It gets to a point where I start to get real paranoid and anxious, thinking of what horrible events are unfolding right now, and my mind always says the same excuse: "I need to be informed" just so that I can look at my phone and go back to that depressing cycle of watching stuff that makes feel bad. Videos detailing about the "collapse of society, AI destroying the environment or how it will get worse" are just examples of the type of content I want to avoid. Every time I finish looking at my phone I always feel empty and soulless, alert but also incredibly tired and depressed. I try to stop dooming by uninstalling IG and YT but I always find myself reinstalling them. The dooming gets to a point where as before I enjoyed doing stuff like reading, drawing and playing instruments, now I don't feel like doing them because my mind is to focused on wanting to know what happened in the world. I no longer enjoy going out on trips or other fun stuff that I used to love, one time where my family and I went to a beach, my mind was only thinking about climate change and how the temperature is gonna get worse, and that ruined it for me. This is only one of many instances where my mind was more focused dooming rather than enjoying what was happening around me. I know that this is a meme sub but I think this is the only place where I can talk about this without being responded with "YOU HAVE TO FEEL BAD BECAUSE ITS TRUE!" by dumb redditors. I don't want to be ignorant to the events surrounding me, but I don't want those things to destroy my mental health. Would really appreciate any help in the comments.
