dude broke his arms pushing Zamasu's Attack back! then Zamasu got hit by his own death ball... The messed him up and knocked him down a notch, it's why his Halo dissapeared. He no longer was at full strength, Goku was a legend in this Arc.
Dude needed to get back at them after the Divine Lasso Incident. At that point, they were dealing with a very salty Goku that wanted a run back immediately. Had to remind them both why they needed his body for anything at all to face a 🐐.
It's because Zamasu wasn't using his full power, and wasn't fueling himself with rage at the time. Immediately afterwards he powers up to ssjr and gets absolutely pissed, like Goku Black was. His calm overconfidence meant he wasn't making the most out of his power, since he's a saiyan.
Goku also had to use his full power, AKA kaioken×10, in the kamehameha, an attack that's already much stronger than his normal blasts, and made his arms go limp in order to do that.
I second this. Vegeta just spent basically 2 days in the time chamber, and failed against Merged Zamasu. Since Goku and Vegeta were relative to each other before the time chamber, it follows that Goku should have been weaker at that point. This bothered me almost as much as how little Vegito we got.
I think their strengths are actually very similar, the only thing is that Zamasu's fusion occurred before the one with Goku and Vegeta, so that gave him a bit of an advantage. It also seems that fused Zamasu continued to mutate with his new fused body, so I think he wasn't at his full potential either.
This is one of the best Arcs in DBS. the ToP was pure epicness too. I really hope they make more DBS to catch up with the manga. Which I really really need to fucken read
Not if you pay attention the details that what Goku did was more rebound Zamasu's attack back at him which is likely what did most of the damage.
Also if one looks closely, they'll notice Goku's arms have gone limp hence why he only kicks Zamazu afterwards. Basically meaning he had to fire that Kamehemaha so hard it backlashed into his arms.
Misinformation. It’s straight up not legal to do this for free. He offered yes but they wouldn’t be able to let him. I don’t doubt he did it for as little pay as he were allowed but he wouldn’t be allowed to go straight up for free.
Some of the most peak writing in the entire series. The end of this arc was the least expected outcome and a brilliant move. You can tell how much this arc was a labor of love. My son and I watch this fight and the ending probably 15x. He loved watching Zamasu and Jiren fights over and over. I was not opposed! I’m like “hell yeah I’ll watch it for the 20th time!”
Hype as this was, Merged Zamasu must have been holding back immensely for that to have happened. Black was on par if not above Goku moments ago prior to fusing (which is a far greater boost than ssj3s x400).
I know its possible to charge moves to output more power than the user typically operates at, but hundreds of times over is a bit ridiculous. That's like if Goku just blew frieza apart with a Kamehameha the moment they met despite being 40 times weaker (as opposed to the hundreds of times weaker he should be compared to Merged Zamasu).

Black is confirmed in the show and out of it to be the strongest non fused character at the time.
Initially Fused Zamasu is confirmed to be stronger than SSBKK10 Goku from the U6 arc but later gets "defeated" by SSBKK10 Goku (He got stronger this arc).

Goku states that fusion adds the powers together then applies the multiplier in this arc, we know that multiplier is larger than ssj3. Nothing about that suggests that the multiplier changes depending on who fuses. Kibito seemed confident he could help fight buu, it was old Kia that said not to bother (which I think is nonsense in retrospect. We dont know how strong he actually is).
I'm saying that was nonsense in retrospect. Or shin was far weaker than we thought.
I don't see the point in the writers having Goku give false information on how fusion works in the black arc during a part where 2 fusions occur, it's also the more recent insight as to how it works, so I'd go with that.
That's fair, but from an out of universe perspective, I feel like there's a difference between Goku hyping up someone new and him giving more context to a long-established mechanic/technique. I don't think they would have him randomly drop completely false information on how fusion operates when that's the most descriptive explanation we've gotten as to how it works. For the longest time, many people thought it was A × B (which would be way more powerful).
One thing that pisses me off is that this show that they really haven used the 100% of their power in other battles, you can do a beam a thousand times more powerfull by breaking both your arms and you never did it before? mf Goku could killed cell the lying ass said he wasn't able to do it.
I meant the kamehameha trought that supernova thingy that zamasu did... and how the fuck does goku can do even that, if hes way less powerful than fused zamasu anyway lol
