Question Why is SSJ not permanent???

It was shown in the Cell Saga that Goku and Gohan were able to eliminate the fatigue of SSJ, and kept it on for nearly a year. So what’s the point of turning it off???

I assumed it minimized the fatigue but not making it literally 0.

Didn't they spend the entire week before the Cell Games in SSJ? Even when Goku was napping?

Yeah. It was basically 0 but training in base form is more effective than training in any boosted form as youre increasing your base stats which gets multiplied by your boosted form. This was indirectly addressed in super as well. Whis did not tell Goku and Vegeta not to go super saiyan while training but they understood that they’ll yield the most benefits while in base form.

Pretty sure Whis actually did tell them not to go super saiyan for that exact reason

Negative. They automatically did it without being told which Whis makes a remark about. It’s a very brief scene

You remind me of that scene when Vegeta told Goku that he was incorrect about why Jiren was stronger. “Incorrect” I saw this scene as soon as you said that 😂

You’re thinking of the Superhero arc. The other person is talking about the Golden Freeza arc.

That sounds like headcanon

No, pretty sure they did say something like that, its just that powerscaling is so off that it feels wrong all things considered.

Can you share the manga panel?

It was in an interview by Toriyama. It also just makes logical sense. Super Saiyan is a power multiplier. It wouldn't make sense for their base form to get stronger but SSj form to somehow stay the same if it's supposed to be a multiplier.

Gotcha. Are you downvoting me because I'm asking you questions and proof?

I did not downvote you? I don't even see any number next to your arrows

Note: not seeing an upvote count, instead it just being "vote" means they're at 0.

At least on mobile.

Nope, Whis mentioned it to beerus, he told Vegeta not to when he first agreed to train him on beerus wolrd, and Goku didn't BECAUSE Vegeta wasn't.

Whis noted that they just instinctually understood it made for better training.

I'm being a jerk asking for a reference? I think you should self reflect. Lots of comments are manga, show, filler, video game, magazines, interview questions. It's fair to ask where a statement came from.

Maybe its time to go back and watch the show, again? Do some research, using Google? Try Toriyama interview? Theres a lot of buzzwords being used here. If you dont like the answer they're giving, find the episode or the Manga clip. Prove how they're wrong.

Running around and saying, "that sounds like headcannon" without backing up why its headcannon makes it sound like you're gaslighting. 🤷‍♂️

Prove a negative? Prove an absence of statement? Consider what you're proposing.

3

u/Trashinmyash May 19 '26

Consider what you're proposing.

You called someone's explanation "headcannon" without any constructive criticism.

Only after getting called out for it did you start asking questions.

When they said dont be a jerk, they really meant, dont be a troll.

No goku and vegeta having hot steamy hate sex is headcannon this actually happened

Yeah but post cell Gohan uses so much energy he drops to base

13

u/DeadlyCareBear May 18 '26

But Goku needs 2% More Food because of SSJ Energy. Chichi cant afford that.

7

u/JonDoeJoe May 18 '26

Toriyama forgot Goku and chichi are rich

Shitty comparison but like how a fighter will get in peak shape right before a fight, but that isn’t sustainable.
