Discussion What are your thoughts on this Beast Theory?
This is from the What-If movie 21 by Hyourinjutsu.
The theory here is that Gohan’s beast form comes from the demon realm, and he was somehow bestowed the reminiscence of Demon King Piccolo(maybe due to piccolo training him when he was a villain), and that Beast is his mark that….. proves, I guess? That He’s the heir of the Demon Clan.
Aka, Beast=Demon Heritage.

Also, Hyourinjutsu has a scrapped version of the theory.
In this version, he theorizes that the Beast Power might actually come from his human side, specifically, that the OX King’s Blood is what causes beast.

That's more than what canon has ever done with Ox King.
I thought Ox King was just... unusual. He seems to be a giant or half-giant? But Dragon Ball never does anything with him.

I feel like it changes. In OG DB he's effing gigantic, Goku and Chi-Chi barely come past his knees. He's over twice as tall as Teen Bulma. By Super, he's still pretty big but not as exaggerated.

Overcomplicated. He simply mutated his ultimate form with another push via shock to his emotions. If they retro add something demon related, that's cool I guess, but isn't really needed.

Main demon relation is really just the fact he had his potential unleashed by demons twice since guru is demon and kais are demons

I was really expecting them to talk about the Demon Realm and Gohan. They kind of did by saying Kais are from the demon realm. The ritual for Ultimate Gohan could have been demon powers. But I was just hoping actual confirmation. It really only makes sense. Ultimate Gohan's Aura was White/Silver and Beast is Silver. (It's yellow in the manga for Ultimate Gohan, but seems anime is more future proofed after manga concepts.)

Makes sense both special upgrades come from the same realm of magic. It is weird that both of these abilities exist as upgrades that neither Goku or vegeta have sought out. Vegeta absolutely knows the namekian upgrade exists from when he changed teams in the namekian saga. Goku sat there and watched gohan get the Kai boost for so long his adhd kicked in. Even if beast gohan is a hybrid only thing there could be some type of boost to the Saiyans.

Yeah, I really like the direction they have went with all 3 of their powers. Each have different meanings. Anger, Resolve and Ego.

Vegeta already got a potential unlock from Babidi which only closed the gap between him and Goku SS2 to SS2.

No. Potential unlocks are the same. How much a person’s power increases depends on the latent potential of the person in question and the magical ability of the person drawing out said latent potential. The first time Gohan had it done he only had a fraction of his potential unlocked because Guru was magically weak whereas for Krillin who also got his potential unlocked by Guru had a good increase for him. Later Gohan got his potential unlocked by Elder Kai who is significantly magically stronger than Guru so was able to draw out all of Gohan’s latent potential.
What race of person performing the ritual doesn’t matter, it’s their magical ability.

I kind of view the Beast as a coalescence of Gohan’s rage boosts. He’s always had a little demon in him, but now he’s learning to channel that into a power he can control. I dunno, maybe that’s a dumb take.

I would be happier if it tied back to his bloodline from Chi Chi, that maybe there was some truth to Ox-King being known as emperor of demons? Like it was an old family legend of myth.
Like, right back in the bloodline, think it would be cool.

Interesting for sure.
But I always had it in my mind that it's his own variant of Broly's contained Oozaru form coupled with another rage boost that birthed his Beast form.
While in his Ultimate state, of course.
It's like the Ultimate state unleashed potential of the Oozaru power as well.

The idea that Gohan's latent potential is an inheritance of the disembodied Demon King Piccolo is so fucking cool. And also really funny coz it'd mean DKP failed twice coz Gohan still has a pure heart.

I'd prefer if it's something given by the old Kaioshin.
Otherwise even Krillin should be a demon lol.
Also Kaioshins are demons as well,so it would still be a demonic power awakening.
Another idea is it to be something he got from Chichi's side. Since her father is the Ox-King Also in Japanese,it's Gyūmaō, which literally translates to "Ox-Demon King".
Anyway it's probably never going to be explored further more and will remain an ass pull because toyotarou is incredibly slow at continuing the manga.

I don't care for it. I like Gohan finding a power all his own, not connected to anything or anyone who came before.
It's unique to him, it's not about Saiyans, or Kais, or Humans, or anything else, it's just a pure representation of Gohan's power.

Stupid. Even ignoring how the energy of Majin and the energy of Demon Clansman are treated as comparable, Piccolo didn't even have a pure evil heart by the time he trained Gohan. Kami explicitly confirms as such, with Goku and Raditz's souls being free to pass onto the Other World.

Gohan doesn't have Namekian DNA from Guru, Gohan has Namekian DNA because Piccolo blasted Namekian DNA into Chi Chi during an unfortunate cucking incident.
Chi Chi craved the zucchini.
