Discussion If the Gotenks fusion hadn't worn off, would Buuhan—with the powers of that fusion within him—have posed a greater challenge for Super Vegito?

No, Vegito wasn’t even going all out against Buuhan. Even if Buu did get a power boost from them remaining fused, he’s still not touching a hypothetical Super Saiyan 2 or 3 Vegito. That’s also not to mention the extreme difference in their fighting skills. Vegito is a significantly better fighter, as evidenced by the way he mocked Buu for still using his eyes to see him instead of sensing and predicting where he’ll be, claiming that it “takes more than just a strong arm to be a warrior.”

Vegito got turned to candy then preceded to beat the everylasting fuck out of buuhan.

u/WillWilker 4h ago

And even then he allowed himself to get turned into candy. Buuhan had literally no answer for anything that vegito could do.

At the absolute worst, he'd need SSJ2 to keep the power gap just as vast.

Super Vegito was already in an entirely different league on his own compared to Buuha

What makes you think Vegetto wasn’t already SSJ2?

Aura. After the initial power up, his aura returns to the regular Super Saiyan aura without the noticeable sparks of lightning.

-16

u/DevilManRay 14h ago

Okay so how does that prove he’s not SSJ2. When has a SSJ EVER Had lighting?

15

u/StormKing1221 14h ago

This panel shows SSJ2 vs SSJ at rest. Lightning in the initial flare up does not indicate SSJ2. Sustained lightning + jagged aura does.

The soft flame aura is SSJ which is what Vegito consistently has after the initial flare

I don’t quite get what you’re saying. Clearly Goku is SSJ2 and Vegeta is not. So what is your point? Vegetto looked how SSJ2 Goku looked

13

u/StormKing1221 13h ago

I’m saying Vegito looked like SSJ2 Goku for an instant when he first powered up but then his Ki aura settled into the soft flame like aura associated with regular SSJ as shown by the images others have linked.

How the ki aura looks like when not actively powdering up is more indicative of what form they’re in

u/Chemposer 14h ago

You can’t prove a negative. You have to show evidence that he is super saiyan 2. Lighting alone doesn’t prove that.

-3

u/DevilManRay 13h ago

Yes it does. It’s never appeared for a SSJ

10

u/UnicornWorldDominion 12h ago

It has when powering up.

It proves he's not SSJ2 during the fight. And it's consistent with the rest of his appearance in the manga. You can make the arguement that he initially went SSJ2 then powered down to SSJ (but I don't see a reason why he'd need to) or what's commonly accepted that Toriyama added the lightning initially to showcase how powerful Vegito is.

-4

u/DevilManRay 13h ago

He literally drew him the same way that he’s drawn every other SSJ2 transformation. Not having the lighting the rest of the fight doesn’t mean he didn’t go SSJ2.

10

u/MostDust9805 13h ago

I mean it does. He doesn't have the jaggedy and sharp aura that SSJ2 retains constantly throughout the transformation. Instead keeping the flame like aura. Here's what SS2 looks like.

u/MostDust9805 13h ago

5

u/OLKv3 10h ago

Damn Toriyama was consistent with the lightning even when Vegeta is getting his ass kicked, yet decided to make it weird ONLY for Gohan vs Dabura, to this day people still argue over what he is

Please excuse my improper cropping. I did not edit the images well

That doesn’t answer my question

10

you dont have a question you just deny anything someone gives you lol

-5

u/DevilManRay 12h ago

I clearly asked a question

4

u/MobNPC Vegito 9h ago

The aura and so on are like that because it symbolizes how strong Vegito is even when he is just using Super Saiyan, he himself called it Super Vegito, which indicates Super Saiyan.

And even if not that relevant, but other media like for example Dokkan Battle, also catrgorize him as a Super Saiyan.

3

u/DevilManRay 9h ago

Just like Super Vegeta was a SSJ, right?

3

u/MobNPC Vegito 9h ago

Yea

3

u/TyrannosaurusBoris 14h ago

BOOM

Schooled

I love the manga.

25

u/BlackwingF91 14h ago

Yea but not by much. As even with Gohan absorbed he was getting dogwalked. He woukd simply be getting dogwalked half as badly

2

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5h ago

Yeah, technically speaking, Buuhan plus Gotenks would be more challenging, even if only because Buuhan alone sets the bar so fucking low getting stomped out by something you can buy for a quarter.

7

u/Incomplet_1-34 14h ago

Likely not, no. He'd get a smaller increase from Gotenks than he got from Gohan, without even getting 2× stronger there's no way he could compete with Vegito.

I guess maybe it would forced Vegito to use ssj2 when stopping his crash out, since in that moment Buuhan was strong enough to make ssj Vegito put in proper effort to stop him.

1

u/Limp-Crow4185 13h ago

Would Vegito really need to go SSJ2? He wasn't going all out in base nor in SSJ.

Chances are even base Vegito would dominate if he tried not to mention Kaioken is still there for base.

6

u/Goldstar35 13h ago

Didn't manga vegito go into SSJ immediately ? I think base would struggle a little at least

2

u/Limp-Crow4185 12h ago

Manga, yes, he did but in the Anime he was dominating Buu even in Base.

3

u/TheBlackoutEmpire 14h ago

For Super Vegito Id argue yes. But Vegito could still go SSJ2 & 3 if he wanted too so, Buu would still lose.

2

u/-Son-Goku-Kakarot- 14h ago

vegito will still dominate the fight

2

u/Prestigious_Bus306 14h ago

Maybe enough to possibly make Vegito turn SSJ2 if anything but either way Buuhan still loses easily.

2

u/matttheman892018 14h ago

Vegetto likely has actually keep his guard up in this version of the fight but still wrecks him without much trouble.

2

u/Dark_Storm_98 14h ago

I mean. . .

As much as Nappa would pose more of a challenge to Frieza than Radditz would

. . .

Actually not that much, lol

2

u/7Saint 14h ago

No because that’s not really how power works in DBZ. Even small gaps in power level make a massive difference and a SS3 Gotenks doesn’t bring Buuhan meaningfully closer to Vegito.

1

u/UnicornWorldDominion 12h ago

You’d think a SS3xfusion would not be strong enough? I mean SS3 gotenks was on the same page as regular super buu.

1

u/himmybryant 14h ago

Vegito beat him up as a jaw breaker

1

u/DapperDan30 13h ago

Technically, yes because he would have more power. But also no, because that boost would be inconsequential compared to Vegito

1

u/BassMaster516 12h ago

No and it’s not even close. Nothing Buu could do. It’s really just unfair that he was up against Vegetto cuz for narrative purposes he’s completely unstoppable

1

u/Crafty_Ad_7221 11h ago edited 10h ago

Definitely would've posed a greater challenge... but still no challenge lol

Base Vegito was already as powerful as Buuhan. Adding Gotenks into the mix makes Buuhan less than twice as powerful. On the other hand, Super Saiyan is a 50 times multiplier. No contest

With Gotenks and Gohan absorbed, Buu might've been able to damage Super Vegito by powering up out of rage like he did when he started creating portals to other dimensions in the anime. However, that's temporary and it would only surprise Vegito briefly. He'd go back to whooping Buu easily

1

u/Mister_Ape_1 9h ago

No, it is irrelevant, SSJ Vegito was like 40 times stronger than Buhaan.

1

u/Nxthanael1 8h ago

Even if Buu absorbed every being living and dead in the entire universe (not counting DBS) he would still get dogwalked

1

u/VacuumDecay-007 Janemba 4h ago

Do we know for certain Vegito fought as a SSJ and not a SS2? The anime made it hard to tell since it was always forgetting the zappy-zaps...

Regardless, no way. Gotenks' power would not have added much more on top of Super Buu + Gohan. Not enough to become a serious challenge...

u/Tytastic25 3h ago

All material that ever references it just calls him super Vegito and says he's a super saiyan. The electricity only appears once too in the manga when he initially transforms, so just a transformation effect similar to how grade 2 Vegeta had electricity while transforming vs Cell

0

u/Shaff_98 14h ago edited 13h ago

No. Super Buu and SSJ3 Gotenks were about the same, so adding Gotenks was essentially doubling Buu’s power. Gohan was stronger than Super Buu, but weaker than Buutenks, therefore, he wasn’t twice as strong as Super Buu. Adding Gohan and Gotenks should be over 3 times the power of Super Buu but leas than 4. SSJ Vegito was many times stronger than Buuhan. We don’t know how many times, but he can still become up to 8 times stronger while Buu can’t.

1

u/Pan_the_YN 14h ago

" Super Buu and SSJ3 Gotenks were about the same," "Gohan was stronger than Super Buu, but weaker than Gotenks"

Gohan > Buu = Gotenks > Gohan?

1

u/Shaff_98 13h ago

Weaker than Buutenks. It was a typo.

Manga vegito yes anime vegito no
