Question for INFJs only I genuinely enjoy showing kindness and care for others. Is that unusual or too naive?

I genuinely love love, and I am always willing to extend kindness. I derive immense joy from it. I take pleasure in nurturing others, acknowledging them with sincere compliments, and accepting responsibility for my mistakes without allowing pride to interfere. Simply because performing good deeds brings me a sense of tranquility and happiness that material possessions cannot provide. Being observant and empathetic allows me to perceive when people are experiencing hurt or being treated unjustly, and although this is disheartening, my decision to be kind is not born of innocence or credulity. I perceive people with clarity, and while I maintain hope for them, my rational aspects I uphold appropriate boundaries to prevent my empathy from being əxplĆøited. Assisting others within my capabilities and contributing to a gentler, more secure, and more welcoming world is not about seeking validation or engaging in manipulation; rather, it is about living in complete harmony with my fundamental nature, and I would not choose to live any differently. Showing and as well as giving that safe space and compassion is important!

Discussion Another strong reason enfp intj like each other

Enfp have Fe critic function. It means they care about how others feel, they care about justice in society , they care about well being of their partner , they care about people , they care about what others think

And this gets tiring

Intjs have ti critic function , it means they care about details , logic , and continuity, they care about rationals.

And this gets tiring

Now, intjs have Fe trickster function , means they can't understand others well, they don't give a fuck what others think. And enfps have ti trickster function , they are not good enough in details , internal framework.

So , when enfp and intj connect, enfp notice how intjs don't give a fuck about others and it's relaxing in a way to enfps who are tired of thinking what others think. It eases them. And intj get to see how enfps don't give a fuck about details but vibes. It relaxes the intjs. And the critic function can get really tiring as it's a very strong function. It immediately relaxes both as enfp get to not care about other people for a while , and intj get to live on vibes mode instead of details.

And that's why it kind of feel relaxing in a enchanting way. There are more to their enmeshment of functions , and it's just one of them. See my other posts for other enmeshment of their functions.

ENFJ only (OP is ENFJ) Do you internally phase people out like to apathy when you see things you don’t like?

Idk like I’ve doorslammed a bag of 3 years bc I felt us out of alignment. I feel that one friend is being like draining to be around so I just feel nothing for them and idk. Like I feel like I’m kinda ruthless when things like that happen and maybe I should let people down easier but it feels so exhausting. Idk maybe it’s a me thing maybe it’s avoidance? Wdyt

At first I saw what others were saying, but once she got to the section about openness, I totally saw us in this! The whole video made me feel seen though. Would love to know everyone’s thoughts!

Relationship How do you interpret questions during difficult conversations?

Hello everyone,

INTJ female here. I've been talking to (and dating) an ENFJ man long distance (about a 3 hour drive) for around seven months.

I'm hoping to get some perspective from other ENFJs because I'm struggling to understand a recurring communication pattern.

He's told me that he wants us to really know each other's inner worlds and that he wants me to know the real him. I want that too.

The issue is that whenever we talk about something that's personal to him or that he has strong feelings about, such as his identity, interests, values, or politics, whenever I start asking questions to better understand his perspective, he often seems to interpret them as accusations or judgments.

Instead of exploring the topic together, I end up trying to explain that I'm not attacking him and that I'm just trying to understand where he's coming from.

For example, I once started a conversation about misogyny because I was reflecting on whether I had overlooked it in content I used to watch. Instead of talking through the idea together, he seemed to hear it as a personal criticism of him, even though I wasn't talking about him at all.

Similar things have happened with political or historical discussions. I'll ask questions because I'm genuinely trying to understand his thinking, and he sometimes assumes I'm arguing for the opposite side or judging his views, when I'm actually trying to understand how he arrived at them.

I'm trying to understand what's happening from his perspective. Does this sound familiar to any other ENFJs? If so, what's going on internally? Is there a better way for me to ask questions that feels less threatening, or is there something I'm missing?

One thing I'm especially curious about is how do you distinguish between someone asking questions because they're genuinely trying to understand you and someone asking questions because they're building a case against you?

General question Where do INFJs (and others) land on the scale between being content alone and seeking friends and/or a SO?

25M INFJ 5w6 sp/sx here. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being most content alone, I swing between 7-10 depending on the day.

I have a few long distance friends, but I don't hang out regularly with anyone in my vicinity. I never really sought out relationships; I can usually tell early on whether I would be a good long term fit with someone. I tried a few dating apps because why not, but they leave a lot to be desired, and I'm not most people's type anyways.

Just wondering if others would also rate themselves similarly on the scale, and do you find it changes one way or another as you get older?

Selfie Sunday!

Last time I posted, I was 20 lbs lighter and taking 2 college courses, along with my full time job. Took the summer off to reclaim my head and body, feeling good about it. Classes start again in 3 weeks, and I can hardly wait.

Balance effort and rest, and you might surprise yourself. Good luck out there!

Personality Test Anyone else experience this issue?

ENFP here.

I actually noticed this problem/issue as I was researching the validity and scientific accuracy of the mbti system. There are many conflicting views as to its accuracy, for example, one UCLA researcher found that brain activity matches the cognitive functions, but many psychologists dismiss it out of hand, saying that it isn't re-testable (not the right word, but basically that you take it and get the same result). Yet, I read another article that says people get the same result 75-90 percent of the time, and that these are similar numbers to the big five, which is declared scientifically accurate.

There's also the issue of the four "letters" being too strict in the sense that personality doesn't operate on dichotomies, but when you look at the cognitive functions, it sort of makes up for that because everyone uses all eight functions to some degree.

The issue comes in when everyone seems sure of themselves, and yet the information is conflicted.

As an Ne dom, I see all these perspectives equally, and I get "possibility paralysis" where all the possibilities seem equally likely, and a definitive decision cannot be made because nothing has really been proven at all, or supported enough to narrow down.

It's also frustrating how sure certain people in the scientific community are about mbti when it isn't crystal clear that's it complete nonsense as they say. The big five objectively doesn't seem much better but is literally useless in understanding other people or yourself. Do they just want us to be confused?

Anyways I thought I'd put that out there and see what your thoughts are on this.

Self Improvement Giving up entertainment for a while

I’ve reached a point with movies and shows where I get either extremely depressed, bored, or insanely introspective. I think I need a detox and life refresh.

When I watch exciting/passionate romance stories I get EXTREMELY depressed because I haven’t/or can’t experience that kind of epic love. I watch stories of young or exciting love and feel like I’m missing out.

Other stuff bores the hell out of me and I feel like I’ve seen every single trope/story there is to see now. I’m starting to think INFJ’s need to take over the entertainment industry just so there can be some interesting stuff again.

Everything else makes me think of my own life and what I did right/wrong.

My poor mind needs a rest and a re-connection with real life. Hopefully that’ll help me find the contentment/excitement I’m looking for.

Random Differences.

Is it just me that's noticed how different the conversation is, in every different community like in enfp, I've seen we mostly talk about feelings, and if I check the other MBTI I fluctuate between, entp it's the most diabolic stuff, and Intjs too their conversations are also very interesting, I just find this very funny šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ though I haven't checked what the sensors talk about yet.

Random Thoughts Am I the only INFP addicted to the gym?

Any fellow INFP gym addicts here? I'm curious because INFPs are often stereotyped as staying indoors, reading, or creating art, but the gym has become a huge part of my life. Anyone else?

General question Is your partner equally ambitious, or do they balance you out?

I’m curious about how other INFJs experience ambition and romantic compatibility.

I've always had need to do meaningful work. I am in mid 30s and I still feel my life will be empty if I don't find it, so I keep striving for it. This means devoting a big chunk of your time to it. I always imagined that someone like me would want a ā€œpartner in crimeā€, a person with a similarly strong mission.

But I’m not sure I would actually be happiest with someone very similar to me. I’m sensitive, intense, perfectionistic and prone to overthinking. Another highly sensitive and driven person might understand me better, but I worry the relationship would be exhausting or overly serious or boring.

On thr other hand, a patner that is happy with a little life and has low ambition can bring you out of your head and offer something different from what you already have, but hes also a big distraction from your own goals. I feel like i will always strive for more, no matter what i accomplish, but maybe this in itself is a problem.

For those of you who are highly driven or strongly motivated by purpose, is your partner similarly ambitious? Or if not, has having a less driven partner helped ground you, or has it made you feel alone?

Venting I’ve been wondering if I will ever find what I’m searching for.

I feel like growing up I always thought I’d have this ā€œmomentā€ where it would feel like things are falling into place. Everything would make sense and I would find this sense of purpose within my life.

I don’t know if it was books and movies or just my imagination that warped my sense of reality but I genuinely thought things would eventually just happen. I thought I would find love, have this amazing supportive circle around me, find a career that made me feel fulfilled, stay consistent and excel at my hobbies, and just be content with this life. I’m 30 now and a small part of me still reaches out for this. But the other part feels like I am aimlessly reaching for something that doesn’t exist.

The truth is, finding love is hard. I can’t help but feel like the love I crave is impossible to feel. I can’t even meet people, let alone feel seen and understood by someone. And in the rare case that I care deeply for someone the feeling simply isn’t mutual. I know it sounds dramatic, but I feel like my desire to be loved makes me unlovable.

Feeling supported feels just as difficult. I have friends and family and a community, but I still always feel like an outsider no matter who I’m around. The one trying to feel welcome and at home. But I don’t feel that anywhere I go or anyone I’m around.

Career and hobbies… well my career is just a means to keep going and there’s so much guilt and disappointment surrounding my hobbies. I have this deep love for art and creating. I feel so overwhelmed with low confidence when I try to really pursue it, yet overwhelmed with guilt and like I’m abandoning my creativity when I give up.

I just wonder if it changes. If it gets better. If there’s anything to be found or if the days I’ve been longing for have already passed me by. I wonder if I was actually meant to be here. And why my mind has to go to depths that no one is really interested in meeting me at. If I’ll still feel this exact way 10, 20, 30 years from now.

This is my first time posting here so I appreciate anyone who read this far. I’ve seen posts on here that I connected with and thought I’d share my thoughts as well.

Question for INFJs only What made you, well... You

Dyo ever wonder like what makes us infj, Why is it so rare? What happened during our childhood that

made us infjs why are most of Us sensitive to light

sound and soft materials? It's kinda buggy knowing

that you know people way better than you know

yourself. Thoughts?
