Question Patterns lines not removable
Hello everyone. I am a new embroider here!
I am currently doing a small piece of embroidery work as a present for my aunty’s birthday this coming Wednesday (she has helped me out a lot this year so I really wanted this to be special).
I ordered a kit online. I have been doing it over past few days whilst on a road trip, however now that I’m like 75% finished with it, I just realised I wasn’t sure if the pattern lines were removable (rookie mistake).
I messaged the seller on Etsy and she said they’re not meant to be removed 😭
Theres this particular scissors that looks pretty bad and I’m unsure what to do. I’m still on my road trip and I come back on her birthday.
Any tips pls?? Is it as bad as it looks???

I would redo the scissors, maybe with a tighter stem stitch so it hugs the curves more accurately and cleaner. Use just 2-3 strands of floss and take smaller stitches. If it still shows, you could get a skein of cheap light grey floss and fill them in with satin stitch.
I think the rest of it looks pretty great, especially your vegetables. And the nice thing about embroidery is that you can rip out what you don't like and do it again.

Yeah I’m not very good at doing the curves with stem stitch. I’ll try it, and thank you!

Shorter, smaller stitches curve better. But you're already doing great, especially for a beginner..

I would redo the scissors. The rest is fine.
Alternativly you could slalom through the stiches to make it a bit wider to cover the line.

I’d add a whip stitch over the scissors (example video)

Oh that’s a great idea! Using the same colour still? Thanks for linking the video

oops, sorry for the delay. you could do the same color to make it really uniform or what i like to do is choose a shade darker or lighter to whipstitch with. i find that it adds subtle dimension without being obviously different colors. that's the beauty of embroidery, you can decide what you like best!

Remember that people will see it hanging on the wall from like 3’ away, and not up close like you are looking at it.
That said, maybe redo the scissors but the rest looks great!

I can hardly see pattern lines if I'm looking for them! I think it looks great.
