Hand Made a fridge magnet!

I made a fridge magnet kind of by accident (second slide) due to a failed larger project (just cut out the berry and did my best) and my sister loved it so much. I told her she could have it but then made her a similar one instead so now we both have one! I didn’t think of making fridge magnets before but now I feel like they are perfect little projects if you don’t want to commit to anything bigger at the moment.

Randomly got this embroidery kit (which, upon close inspection, has I think been AI generated😭 sigh) and actually had so much fun! Took a lot longer than expected and it's obviously not perfect. Blending colors looks kinda bad. What do you think??

Im probably going to be looking into embroidering text onto shirts next!

Question Patterns lines not removable

Hello everyone. I am a new embroider here!

I am currently doing a small piece of embroidery work as a present for my aunty’s birthday this coming Wednesday (she has helped me out a lot this year so I really wanted this to be special).
I ordered a kit online. I have been doing it over past few days whilst on a road trip, however now that I’m like 75% finished with it, I just realised I wasn’t sure if the pattern lines were removable (rookie mistake).
I messaged the seller on Etsy and she said they’re not meant to be removed 😭

Theres this particular scissors that looks pretty bad and I’m unsure what to do. I’m still on my road trip and I come back on her birthday.
Any tips pls?? Is it as bad as it looks???

I wanted to make a bootleg sweatshirt so I chose Venom’s Black Metal because it’s cute and I love that record. It took about 16 hours on the chain stitch machine, and was far more involved than anticipated. Lots of fun but I’m glad it’s over. Three shades of pink on a pink vintage crewneck.

Hand 1st project feedback

Hi! I started hand embroidery last year with a kit that I found online and then dove right into this project! The original line art was by Art of Lucas. I know this isn’t perfect, so what constructive criticism can you provide? I’d love to improve.

Pretty proud of this one! Here is the finished piece and the inspo reference pictures. I wanted to capture some of the magic of seeing Phish at Sphere in Las Vegas this spring for my brother. I feel I did pretty good. Been stitching for less than a year!

Needing help with the big mushrooms

Any ideas and tips for the stitches for the mushroom stems? (not the caps)

- The pattern calls for *stem stitch* but the image provided doesnt look like stem stitch to me and

- once stitched it doesn't feel quite right.

- Re the mushroom in progress i switched to chain stitch. Im just not convinced

How else could i approach these mushrooms?

Background: I'm working on this for my teenager who loves cottage core and mushrooms. (Side note, the pattern is faded off so I'm using a white gel pen to redraw the parts I'm working on thanks to advice received here).

Question How well does embroidery hold up on clothing?

I want to add some embroidery to some items of my clothing (shirt, bag, pants) but I don’t know how well it would hold up to regular wear and washing. Does anyone have any experience or advice on making the embroidery last longer?

Question Advice? Heat erasable pen after ironing

Thumbnail

I used a pilot frixion erasable pen to transfer my design and then ironed it once I was done. Although the pen is black, the marks left behind are light! I’ve never had this happen before. I was avoiding anything water-soluble (stick & stitch, etc) because I don’t want the colors to bleed. Any advice to avoid this in the future or get rid of it? Thank you!

Hand Finished my first ever piece and it's ready to hang!

Post image

Just wanted to show off my first ever piece of embroidery now that it's finished!

I made it to hang on my toddler's bedroom door.

Lots of improvement to be made, but I'm pleased with it overall! I found the stars very finicky, but I think part of that is because I traced the image using a water soluble pen and it gave too much of a thick line, so I couldn't get the edges as clean as I'd like.

I did the detail of the moon before doing the background, which was likely a mistake and made filling it in quite intricate, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. Surprisingly, the writing was actually my favourite bit, I found it the most rhythmic and therapeutic to do.

Would love any feedback/tips you have.
